Dynamically Generated Horror Missions

Join the Paranormal Operations Group (POG) and deal with spooks, anomolies, and paranormal disturbances across the world...

NOTE - THIS IS AN INITIAL RELEASE. BUGS MAY PERSIST. PLEASE REPORT IN COMMENTS SO I CAN FIX THEM

Storyline:
The Paranormal Operations Group, a secret multi-national organization, has served under various names since World War 2 to keep the world safe from (and unaware of) the cosmic horrors that threaten our existence. From zombie contagion outbreaks to anomalous beings from beyond the veil, POG stands ready to deploy, contain, and destroy the weird, the paranormal, and the horrifying, no matter where they crop up.

Features:
- Completely dynamic horror missions generated across the entire map
- Every mission is unique
- Generates based on server's loaded horror/monster mods (see below)
- Variety of mission objectives (purge zone, recover artifact, destroy object, etc)
- Ground or helicopter insertions into the AO
- Mission Difficulty and "Vibe" parameters available
- Custom 'horror events' and sounds to keep the spooks up while in the AO

NOTE: This persistent mission was inspired by the Dynamic Recon Ops, but diverges from that scenario in significant ways and does not utilize a single line of their code. The focus here is on the tension of clearing a dark, lamp-lit village on foot by flashlight, waiting to hear the footsteps of the infected just around the next turn... No one is coming to save your team: You are the saviors. I hope you enjoy the experience...

**Solo/Single Player Quality of Life**
This adds a check for someone playing DHO by themselves (SP, MP self hosted, or dedicated). If true, a squad of friendly AI soldiers is spawned to support the solo player. Those AI can also have their loadouts modified using the "Modify Unit Loadout" scroll wheel option at the POG Base. These were highly requested features and help resolve Issue #10

2025 Spooki Season update IS RELEASED, just in time for Halloween! This update adds a new mission type, anomaly zones in random areas (in addition to normal cities and towns), a bunch of quality of life additions for people playing solo, and some vital bugfixes for base game changes that have broken parts of the mission. Some more detail:

**New Mission: Boss Monster**
Added a new mission type which will spawn a 'boss' monster from the EnemySpawnBoss pool generated in the mod loader. Once the boss monster is eliminated, the zone will be completed. The boss is set to a 'level' equal to the number of players divided by 4, and then modified by the difficulty selection in the parameters.

**Random Anomaly Zones**
Added the ability for DHO to spawn zones in random wilderness areas (instead of just named locations, as before). This will enable more flexibility to create interesting dynamic scenarios and allow ops to take place not only in urban areas

New version for Halloween 2024 is OUT! This major update includes new support for the FAP Zetaborn Alienz mod, TTS Emissions (Blowout) mod, as well as 3 new types of ‘spook events’ and 8 more spooky sounds to creep you out on mission! More importantly, this mission was totally refactored with a new function system which results in a much more stable mission and serious performance improvements. There were also small bugfixes and quality-of-life additions added. See the scenario changelog a complete list of updates and changes and have a Happy Halloween!

Just uploaded a major new update for 0.14 that adds in several requested features. This is a summary of the changes and additions with the full changelog in the mission Steam Workshop "Change Notes" section:

Multiple Objectives: DHO can now spawn multiple objectives per play session, from 1 to 4, or randomize the number within the MP mission parameters. For SP, the number of missions is always randomized from 1-3

Enemy Faction Selection: The enemy factions are now selectable in two different ways: The first is a “theme” category that will select enemy units from the loaded mods that are relevant to the theme. The second way is by selecting the specific mods to load yourself with the bottom three drop downs (follow the listed instructions for it to work!).

Enemies No Longer Fight: Added functionality so they now consider themselves friends and no longer fight each other. HUGE shout out to Drongo and DevourerKing for helping me to get these units playing nicely!

@Ranman That's very strange. I would be interested in any strange errors in your .rpt file to see if it's a problem with the mission

Yeah, I found that for some reason when I hosted, it didn't generate a mission, but when my friend did, everything worked fine. Must of been an issue on my end.

@Ranman You can just reload for a new mission. As for the mission not ending, did you check the tasks and make sure you didn't have to pick up an object or destroy something? Also, the Mission Commander can go into Zeus mode to check if there are any sneaky monsters still around in purge missions (sometimes they get stuck in weird spots because Arma)

Is there a way for the mission to end or to Start up a new Mission? We went to the AI, killed everything, and not sure what to do from there.

@Mochal In MP, you can hop onto Zeus, drop down an AI squad, and then use CTRL+click drag them all onto yourself to make you leader
