UPDATE FOR 7.0+: Make sure to update SirNukes Mod API to the latest version for 7.0

Overview:
Head Hunter is a spin-off of the bounty kill credit function of my Roaming Fleet mod https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2980971677. (This mod can be used along side Roaming Fleet. Head Hunter bounty function will automatically take precedence.)
Leaving it at that would have been too easy so I took it a few steps further. This can be used as an alternative to something like Better Kill Credit which reportedly doesn't seem to be working anymore in 6.0. Head Hunter has three main features:

1. General Bounties
Killing ships will reward you a small bounty credit paid by those that want them dead in the universe. If you destroy a ship that is the enemy of the sector you are in, you will also be rewarded a small reputation bonus with that faction for keeping their space clean of baddies.

2. Wanted Bounties
When faction ships are destroyed, the owning faction may put out a bounty directly on the killer. This is where the real money is. Ships will rack up bounties and can become quite lucrative and probably dangerous to go after. This also comes with a larger reputation increase for the faction that posted the wanted bounty.

3. Head Hunters
Maybe you like to kill faction ships too. They still don't like that and may put a bounty on your ships as well. This will attract bounty hunters coming for your head...
It would have been easy to spawn bounty hunters on your face like a common Kha'ak and call it a jump drive, but that's boring. Head Hunters will travel and actually search for your ships, so they can be juked or hidden from. No cheating. They also won't disclose their true ship transponder code until they find you...

Mod Support API is optional, however extremely recommended. It will technically work without it, but then how are you going to view the Wanted board and choose some options? Just grab it.

New in v2.0:
- Big thanks to Mycu for adding a new map UI to view the bounty board without having to pause and go to options. See screenshot for location. You will need to install kuetee's UI extensions mod to view it: https://www.nexusmods.com/x4foundations/mods/552
- Double-clicking on a wanted row will center the map on the last known sector for that entry.

Does contributing partial damage to a ship give partial credit, even if it's not the final shot, like better kill credit mod does?

Just having a bounty is enough. However the response size of the head hunters depends on the size of the fleet your bountied ship is in. The idea was to have an even-ish fight for the head hunters. So if your ship that gets a bounty is just one ship by itself, you'll typically only have one head hunter looking for you.

Additionally, the head hunters do not magically know where you are. They know what sector you are in and then they run a search pattern for you once there. I didn't think it would be much fun and it would have been too easy to just give the head hunters your ship as a target and they beeline to you across the galaxy. This way you have a chance to evade them for real.

Finally, there is a timer that runs every handful of minutes with a percent chance to activate the bounty hunters. It's pretty aggressive, I think it was every 15 minutes there's a 50% chance or something. It's been a long time. Those values could be adjusted if you want in the script files.

What are the conditions to get bounty hunter on our own ship ? Didn't get attecked during several hours with a 1M+ bounty and i find't that strange.

Is there anyway to "provoke" the event ? Or maybe should i modify the files to get harassed more often ?

Can't figure out how to open the Wanted board *on the map* like shown in the first screenshot. I can view the wanted board in the Settings menu but it's a static list that doesn't show me where they are on the map.

Now an argon head hunter tries to get it!?

The Headhunter-Borad shows multiple Readtext's ( the one on map with kuetees UI-extension)

Check the settings in the extension options menu. You can toggle boardable headhunters.
