X - Dangerous

描述
Ship and combat tweak for X4. 8x weapon range (excluding beams) and 10x ship speed with several gameplay tweaks for challenging AI combat. Save game compatible, Supports all DLC. Can be safely removed at any time.


Ship Changes:

- Ship top speed 10x higher over vanilla, 4x higher in reverse, and Travel drive removed on all ships.
- Version without engine boost and a version with vanilla ship + travel drive performance on Nexus.
- Small and medium ships get 5x faster strafe top speed and 2x stronger strafe thrust.
- Ship top speed and acceleration is dictated by cargo capacity, weapon count, and shields.
- Shield regeneration delay removed for all ships (0.25s for small) , but ships have around ~3x slower shield regen.
- Some ships with fewer shields gain HP buff; Split have best hull in class for destroyer and battleship.

- Standardized engines, mass, and shields for various classes of ships across all factions.
- L and XL ships gain over 4x mass. S and M ships gain around 1x- 2x mass.
- Sentinel, Vanguard, and Raider all have same top speed, but retain different hull and mass.
- Sentinel class for L and XL gains an additional health buff.

- Xenon XL ships have higher turning rate
- Xenon ships gain HP buff, but have much lower shield regen.
- Xenon ships have top of the line top speed over most ship classes.
- Xenon Ships get 2x cargo capacity, Fighters carry 50% less cargo, Scouts carry 75% less cargo, Barbarossa,
Basilisk, and Erlking carry 50% less cargo.


- Astrid (yacht) is upgraded to be competitive with other corvettes.
- High speed can keep you alive in heavy combat; sharp turns bleeding your speed can make you easy target practice.

- L and XL ships have capability to boost far longer than before.

- M ships get a small duration buff to boost.

- Split XL Ark ship in Timelines DLC has significantly increased hull strength for compatibility.
- Ship radar range is now 40km for M, 50km for L, and 60 km for XL ships

Weapon Changes:

- Weapon range increased 8x excluding beam lasers.
- Many weapons gain 2x more damage.
- Asgard main weapon's damage nerfed, heat reduced.
- Xenon L Graviton turret damage nerfed significantly, but it has excellent range and speed.
- Beam lasers get up to 1.2-1.4x range increase and doubled projectile speed.
- Weapons and turrets gain faster and standardized rotation speeds depending on damage.

- Astrid primary weapons get a large damage buff to be competitive with corvettes. Increased heat buildup.
- Astrid beam turrets have slightly reduced range over other beam turrets because of its superior DPS.
- Medium shard turret gets a large damage buff to compete with Flak.
- Gatling weapons and Plasma cannons have much lower heat output.
- Split Boson Lance has 10x lower heat output, 4x lower damage, and 0.5x reload speed.

- Kha'ak and Xenon death ray beam damage nerfed for in-game story compatibility.
- HEPT fires 10x slower but deals 15x more damage, 10x more heat, 2.3x faster projectile, and 7.5x more range.
- Electromagnetic weapons fire 5x faster, 2.5x lower heat, 0.5x accuracy, 0.5x damage, 2x faster projectile, and 5.6x more range.
- Meson Stream damage cut in half with higher reload time, but its cooling rate is significantly faster.
- ARG Ion weapons do slightly more hull damage.

Other Changes:

- Superhighways removed except for Sanctuary of Darkness

- Removed damage effects from all hazardous regions.

- Tide damage removed and AI should no longer flee from harmless Tide event. Do subscribe to Zero Tide Damage with this mod - It is already integrated. Thanks to Malikun for AI flee syntax fix!

Glad you found out the confict. Feel free to use the NexusMods version of this mod since it is loosely packed. This way you can easily delete the change that is causing the conflicts. It could be something as simple as removing the superhighways.

@shadowed lucked out and quickly found the conflicted mods: "Add More Sectors" by Treybor
and "Add More Sector: The Expanse Relocation Patch" by Ueberlappen. Not sure why these 2 conflicts with your mod. I can survive without them for now to test out the features in yours :-) Thanks again for your help and quick reply :-)

@shadowed if i disable all other mods, it loads fine, and the log shows even more file i/o errors from xdangerous (802 lines instead of the 588) so i doubt this is what causes a conflict. I will re-enable the other mods 1 at a time and see when it fails. Will report which ones conflicts if i am able to find the culprit

@shadowed without xdangerous, i still get thousands of those File I/O errors from the other mods, but it does not crash... so not sure what could be doing this. Any thoughts?

@shadowed according to the log, the only errors i get from xdangerous are File I/O errors. Not sure why that would crash X4 (blank screen, unable to alt tab out or alt f4 out, ctrl-alt-del blocked, only hard boot works).

I am not including the 588 lines with File I/O errors related to xdangerous, I did see other mods listed with same xml but you also have a bunch where only xdangerous is mentioned.

@Akhiir - That sounds strange, since this mod is doing very basic replace xml editing. But in Steam launch arguments add:

debug all -logfile x4.log

And your debug log will be in Documents/Egosoft/X4/BunchOfNumbers/x4.log

@shadowed when enabling this mod, X4 is unable to fully load and crashes my desktop PC. First mod that ever does that to me. Any clue on how to find why this happens?

I've lowered the strength down to 1 and I can enter the anomaly with the large ship. The slowdown effect is still occuring though. I have asked for help to fix this, but all ships can enter an anomaly; it is just slow.
