Inspired by the AoE II/IV map and real-life locations, this map is a tableau of sights of the Schwarzwald in southwest Germany. Aurally, I was inspired by various pieces of German Lieder which you can listen to here: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLuTgUUQqa_aMxQQeIU22Q8LM20wwQhdex

Designed for a competitive matchup, Black Forest should play fairly similar to most balanced maps in the 2v2 automatch pool.

Version 1.2.3 is now live! Further changes were made based on top tier player feedback in anticipation of CoHmunnity Germany's 2v2 Smokin' Aces League.

I have played the 3v3 versions of both the original and the aftermath (albeit playing 2v2 on a 3v3) both play fine with a little drop in performance even with a lot of units compared to playing on 2v2 on the 2v2 map version

Ahh that's good to hear! Honestly it's designed for a 2v2 matchup but I had a few requests for a 3v3 version. I think the performance difference might be chalked up to more units on the field compared to the smaller version.

Have you tried the other version of the map? Your performance might be worse because there are many more action markers but it plays slightly differently in terms of flow.

the 3v3 maps work fine tho only a small drop in performance compared to the 2v2 map

Oh mate I'm not sure how much the Spearhead mod impacts performance! There aren't too many markers, mostly fog, but there are a lot of grasses and foliage that may be lowering frames, unfortunately.

been playing spearhead mod on it and it gets really laggy later on
