Rocinante

Rocinante, the main characters' spaceship in novel series The Expanse by James S. A. Corey, as well as the TV series The Expanse.

The Rocinante ("Roci") is a Corvette-class light frigate with multiple roles, such as torpedo bomber and boarding party insertion.

Originally commissioned as the MCRN (Martian Congressional Republic Navy) Tachi (ECF 270), the ship was stationed aboard the MCRN flagship, the Donnager. It was renamed by James Holden after he and his crew used it to escape from the Donnager.

The ship's construction is like a narrow building, layered floor by floor from the drive cone and reactor up to the engineering deck, to the machine shop, then the galley and crew cabins and medical bays, storage deck containing the crew airlock, then on up to the command deck and pilot's farthest forward. Under thrust, g-forces then provide a "down" amenable to human orientation.

the thing about a small grid version is that you would need 75 small grid gyros to have the same amount of torque as a large grid gyro

For survival-ready I agree with you. Although personally I would love a 1:1 small-grid Rocinante for roleplays or just to have. I understand that would be an incredible amount of work however, and not practical in a lot of situations. I might build one myself or try to find one somewhere else on the workshop, we'll see. Still, great build! I always love to meet another Expanse fan.

Star_Kindler, thanks. I am aware small blocks exist. Regarding block count I will have to disagree with you though. It would take several thousand small blocks to build this ship and it would add up to few tens of thousands PCUs, based on similar sized ships I have seen in workshop. That is too much and not viable for survival, not for multiplayer at least.

I LOVE The 1:1 scale, but as constructive feedback I think a small-grid version would be better for this ship as it is definitely small enough to do one without the block count going up too high, and it would allow for much better detail.

Very Nice!! Rocinante is also the name of the ship in RUSH Hemispheres and from Cygnus X-1
