•Build your ship with a nice balance between Quality and Functionality. Most of my ships skip on the smaller details for FPS sake but they dont sacrifice in functionality.
•Make good use of the physics flooder
•The interior of the hull should be mostly open space. No need to have 3 layers of useless rooms and such. It looks good like that, but its laggy. Keep the needed equipment in the superstructure if you can. It also makes it easy on you to make upgrades when that time comes. My lest few ships have gone through maybe 3 powerplant replacements.
Thats really it. My main trick is to keep most of the interior of the hulls empty space.
