RIPPLE 170-Knot Starter Hovercraft ($15K)

RIPPLE is a 170-knot starter boat costing just $14997, including 100km of fuel. Packed in to this outstanding price is all the mission-critical equipment you need to do basic towing, firefighting and rescue missions. It also features crate-finding radar, state-of-the-art emergency beacon triangulation, a water cannon, tank capacity for an additional 100km range, interactive map, autopilot, and various handheld equipment.

RIPPLE is an air-cushioned vehicle, riding on a pillow of pressurised air at speeds well in excess of traditional watercraft. Hovercraft search and rescue vehicles are often employed in coastal and inland waters inaccessible to traditional vessels, or used for ice-clearing and amphibious operations. In Stormworks, the spirit of the hovercraft is reproduced using retractable hydrofoils.




RIPPLE is powered by two large diesel engines, driving two propellers at ~2000RPM. The engines run at an efficient 480RPM, giving RIPPLE a fair-weather range of 100km using 1400L of diesel. Two additional fuel tanks can be filled (either in the workbench or via a hose), increasing the fuel capacity to 2800L. Every aspect of the drive train has been meticulously designed to save cost whilst providing maximum power. There is full access to the engine compartment, allowing emergency access.

RIPPLE is capable of over 170 knots and maintains stability even while cornering at speed. Hovercraft are notoriously hard to manoeuvre due to their frictionless air cushion, but this makes RIPPLE a blast to drive and she is exceptionally stable.



RIPPLE has cruise control and autopilot, sit back and relax. She also has a "slow mode" for safer manoeuvring and a more comfortable ride in very heavy seas.


RIPPLE is fully equipped for towing, fire-fighting and life-saving. Automatic incremental emergency beacon triangulation (AIEBT) allows you to quickly locate distress signals and navigate to them. Radar helps locate other vehicles and is a fantastic tool for finding loot crates.
