There's a very, very old bug from the start of neverwinter involved with portraits. If everything is not done EXACTLY the way the stock portraits are done(And I do not know the exact parameters as to why) there's a chance a character portrait will become corrupt upon any save game creation. I've just encountered this bug of my own and lost a couple dozen hours of a character. While I have the utmost respect for modders and esepcially those who still reply to long-gone games whose devs have abandoned them, I generally would tell most everyone to never download a portrait mod because they could never squash this bug.

Perhaps that is your current issue.

Hm, that's weird, I haven't changed anything with the packs for a while so it must be a new Beamdog patch causing the issues. I know previously we had an issue with how I was saving the portraits, essentially causing them to crash because I'd chosen the wrong compression options, but I re-did all of them to fix that (Perhaps this one slipped the net?).

It's possible it somehow got corrupted steam side? If you can give me the specific filename of the one you're having issues with (if you can find it!) then I should be able to check and see what the issue is. I can't seem to reproduce it, but I wonder if that's because I have all of the files locally, rather than via steam.

Also, just to be clear, I can reproduce this crash 100% of the time.

Even with your mod installed, the game is fine. If you create a character using a vanilla portrait, there's no problem at all.

But once you make one using that specific portrait, you can no longer access the load screen.

I still haven't had a chance to try out the other portraits in your female pack to see if others cause this problem, but the Asian one near the bottom definitely does. (Shame too, because it's absolutely perfect for a character of mine. I love both your packs overall.)

Hi there. I've used your portrait packs for a long time, but I'm sorry to report that it appears something has recently changed so that your portraits essentially break the game completely.

I've tested, double-tested, and triple tested this, under all sorts of conditions - with mods and without. I don't know what new "thing" has occurred to cause this to happen, but if a player makes a character using one your portraits, then they save the game, the game will immediately crash if they try to load it.

What's happening is, the load preview is trying to display the character portrait, and there's just something about it in the preview that it doesn't like. I don't know if this occurs with all portraits, or just some. Specifically, it's happening with the Asian female portrait, towards the bottom of the list. I haven't tried the other females yet, and I haven't encountered this problem at all with the male portraits so far.

Welp i take it back i had to take off your Male collection to see the female one.
Guess it won't work for me then.
