Great game where you play dwarf messiah to take back the land which belongs to your kin and drive away all that evil which has taken over and now threatens the very extinction of whole dwarven race. Gameplay type is side-scrolling hack&slash and you gather loot and resources while exploring new areas in the wide world. Moreover your settlement grows when you build new buildings and you will be able to hire mercenaries, create medicines and do business with various shop keepers who might sell something more steadfast for dangerous journeys.

The fighting is good enough to remain interesting and challenging throughout a game and the progress is so damn rewarding and satisfying because first few goblin settlements go without much trouble then you meet an Orc with which you are gonna fight for your hole-digging life. Even on normal difficulty the game is quite merciless but with strong persistence good things happen and in no time I was slaying various orcs with few bruises and eventually I single-handedly swiped numerous orcs with one single swing. Thus your skills and equipment efficiency multiplies but despite of that the game remains challenging and throws more dangerous beings on player's way. I recommend to always have few mercenaries to support you to take care of the ranged enemies. At least my melee character had sometimes problems getting close to those in one piece. RPG system is light and there is 4 different skilltrees: light-strikes, ranged-fighting, shielding and power-strikes and I particularly spent my points on melee fighting related skills, but ranged character might work just as well. Shame though that there was not skill tree for spellcasting.

After 20 hours later, beating the game and unlocking all the achievements and building every single building to its full glory I can only say that just surprised how time just flew by with it. Game has simple nice formula for which the game stays fresh and I barely had any dry season with it. I was lucky enough to get if for free on a right moment, but if you get it on sales it is worth of every cent you spent.

Totally a hidden gem! Greek Mythology has rarely been a theme in games which might be why Argonus and the Gods of Stone has never gathered much attention it really should have deserved, let alone First-Person-Puzzle-Adventures are also quite few on the markets. The story is interesting and how it delivers it with many encounters with various of mythological gods, titans, deities and creatures is really crafted with passion and while I am not an expert of ancient tales and plays I got a feeling that the makers have done good job adapting stories and mixing them together into entertaining experience. The puzzles were challenging, but I rarely found myself stuck and moreover there is some secret places and things in the game that you might miss even if you completed the story - the achievements are good meter to determine how many things there is yet to be found.

The game has wonderful graphics, musics are decent and voice acting is great! Gameplay works fine with a good inventory system and only thing which was bugging me was that the moving was partly limited and while environment seems totally open you can't go jumping around and see the island all the way through - actually there is no ability to jump.

Anyway Argonus atGoS is charming game and it might be that only Zeus knows why reputation has not favored it, but yet again so many good games come and go unnoticed. Might be a little bit steep buying it on its full price but less than ten bucks easily worth of the money.

What a heck, there was a Half-Life 2 mod which really kicks and found it by an accident? The game uses source-engine and it pretty much feels like an Half-Life 2 episode, but with a lot of good ideas to create more horrifying and intensive experience. For example there is a sequence where you need to turn off the lights before going in to the pit full of craw mutated head-crab zombies and the dev has taken the liberty that in this part of Half-Life reality zombies can't see in the dark where I was able to slowly use valve to open the door while zombies where all over me, but not taking aggressive contact, then I feeble-mindly pushed my flashlight on and hell broke loose :D

The whole tiny scenario is bumped up with all kind of other cool things as well and if I was to told Valve to hire these makers I definitely would. If this was a whole game and the quality would remain up through it I would call it Half-Life 2.5! Absolutely remarkable mod and it is Free to Play!

Just like many other indie games The Lost Crown lives through its unique atmosphere and it is not straightforward to say that is it your cup of tea or not. This game feels very original and the reasons for it are both good and bad. While its bold approach to its ghost hunting theme is admirable and well done I never felt that this grabbed me as horror feature but more like a bit spooky tale with few good jump scares. I would have hoped that the game delivered pressuring mystic atmosphere, but it never reaches that really, which is a shame because I believe that the devs including Jonathan Boakes have done remarkable job with lore and every single aspect of ghost hunting is so well documented that immersion is very eerie and real at its best. However this nice feeling kinda of flattens many times especially it has so much to do with puzzles that keep player stalling.

The last crown is very long game and the reason is not the abundance of plot, but rather the confusion it pushes player to. There is too many times I have wondered around finding some last piece of the puzzle or finding the exact order of some combinations to get forward and there we get on the controversial part that should adventure point'n'click game be easy or merciless and this surely is very close to lastly mentioned. I do appreciate puzzles which challenge you to keep as keen mind as possible, but I do felt also that there were parts where developers had been in love with their product so much that they forgot the convenience. If I was not bored enough to be stuck in some detail the slow animations and overall setting gave experience which was revolting at its worse.

But nevertheless when there is no option to give neutral review I can do nothing else than to contribute. The Lost Crown in all its clumsiness is mystic adventure that I have had many good hours with and while being sullen looking generally there is so many things in the game that just bursts utter passion of telling a tale of foggy Saxton village and its horrors that it would be injustice to denigrate it. It's interesting graphical design of delivering the world with real photos, archived video footage and animated character models is just something that someone might call beyond ordinary. Damit, even the strange menu with hilarious 3D-animations proved that I was playing something really strange. The Last Crown really shows off how ambitious project it is and that is its trump card when being on the market where there is a lot of competition on these good days of adventure gaming.

Buy it on sales and you won't be too disappointed if it is not for you. I feel this is already small kind of cult classic for what I have heard and even have a friend of praising this game unforgettable masterpiece (for understandable reasons), but yet again the target audience may be narrow.

It is different... I don't know did the devs really want to turn their Saints's Row universe from GTA clone with more light-headed touch to something out of reasonable hand where singular missions have more explosions than all Michael Bay movies together. And Where the storylines are about fighting aliens in some kind of matrix wannabe virtual world, but I admit that the playing a super hero is superfun!

Following the events of Saints Row 3 (The Third) our hero has taken the streets of Steelport to themselves and now is taking the lead of the whole US, but just after the moment or two the aliens assault on earth abducting all the good old friends and sealing the hero in a virtual hell where everything is much the same like in previous game except aliens are in control and weird things fly over the sky. When being virtual reality main character learns to use glitches and get access on different powers with which player is able to run super fast, jump onto the highest structures, climb walls, shoot freeze, shoot flame or use telekinesis to smash foes into the air and all this is handed quite quickly in the game.

So Saint's Row IV bashes the normal SR formula completely and I was feeling of playing some mixture of Prototype twisted with Goat Simulator. All good old Saint' Row 3 gameplay is there game engine included, but there where previous game multiplied the craziness of its pre-successors Saint's Row IV doesn't just multiply it but powers it with itself + 4. And I surely did like what I saw, but it is just not Saint's Row anymore, more like an 'evildoer's line 1' ..I dunno. I have personally played the games since SR2 and seeing what's the universe have come to I see all the good characters of the story good as dead.

However, I must praise how the Volition has wanted to evolve with every game they make, maybe we are not having cool stories of different characters in different towns and times with each passing game, but SR -series have provided ever-growing entertainment and while it might seem that the story has been road-killed, stabbed and shot with a sawn off shotgun in the head, the game is fun to play where the whole experience is like constant fireworks thanks to easy controls powered with super powers. They could have followed the more regular line, but on the other hand maybe all we had by then was a clone which was almost as good as GTA. Who knows.

Some people tell that this was originally to be a DLC for SR3 and ocassionally it did feel like a large mission pack, especially when the game has not that much changed if we took super powers out, which could be actually disastrous if that happened. The fact is though that there is so much of gameplay that it would be just unfair to call this DLC, besides the game is not new anymore and costs less than bestselling DLC's so it is ok for me. However if I should send regards to the devs I'd tell that you have succeeded in impossible for making a great game without doing your homework properly. For your 5th game start from the scratch.

If you are Saint's Row fan dyed-in-the-wool from SR to game SR: The Third, try to see this as a different game or some crazy mod. I feel you, but hey let's have some fun with this one! Besides we are having a SR Reboot soon!

After recently completing the game almost 10 years from its release I find RAGE a flawed game with a lot of enjoyment which compensates the dullness of the story. It's open world is not a lie on itself but one can find it at least controversial.

Let's start with the graphics though. id Software is known of creating eye candy decade after decade by its legendary franchises Doom, Wolfenstein and Quake. Their newest franchise to this date RAGE is also a good looking game and NPC's look decent enough, but wtf is wrong with some of the environmental stuff. Most of what you see looks awesome, but then there is stuff which looks like that rendering progress it is on 20%, especially when you get very close to some targets. My suggestion is that the devs tried to create a compromise between performance and quality, which works but I would not said that graphics were anything jaw-dropping not even on 2011 standards.

Then there is open world which is an interesting speculation when of course RAGE breaks the thin red line of linearity, but there is no hope of wide open areal environments. Not there was much to do either, there is some collectables and some secrets to explore not to mention few side missions and tasks, but do not expect anything like Fallout though. The progression is limited and the map opens one part after the other when you proceed further in a storyline.

Speaking of which I found story to be weakest part of RAGE and I never felt anything for anybody, and that was not for I was enjoying of the gameplay too much, but the game just lacked elements to create anything unforgettable. While the first setting with cutscene starts promisingly the game stumbles right after with few NPCs which names and motives fade swiftly. I just wanted to proceed and hoped that the story would take a peak, only to find more characters with cool names and titles but it felt like every NPCs' primary function was to set player on the next mission. There was one exception though and that was Bash TV's JK Stiles, a crazy fat guy sitting in his command deck full of monitors in clothing which could present bad taste, but even he is a star of only one mission. Another thing they could have done better was to give some more screen time for the bad guys too, because during the whole game you could hear about Authority and how they were trying you to take you down, but never I heard much anything else about them, like their ranks, history or deeper motives. Usually this could be done by creating some Nemesis on their ranks or showing their actions in a wider light just like in Half-Life 2 where bad guys are marked immediately. In RAGE it felt like I was scratching the surface and it already ended.

However RAGE is a product of id Software and they certainly know their value and where they are good with and that is creating a fun-to-play experience with AAA-quality. Every battle you take is full of options and you have a wide arsenal to choose from and limit goes beyond ballsy guns and 'nades offering multiple ammunition options for each gun and some cool tools like remote controllable exploding cars, sentry turrets and moving bots attached with minigun. The AI uses different approaches and while some wild thug might just take his baseball bat and run crazily to you an elite Authority soldier activates his plasma shield and proceeds carefully his armed colleagues next to him.

RAGE is good fps with many flaws and can feel like a prototype and a step of trying to make something more complex and vast than DOOM, to which they have come back with and even RAGE 2 is out already enjoying controversial popularity. Who knows maybe I grab it one day to see has it done those features better where its pre-successor failed.

+ An excellent mixture of FMV and adventure gameplay
+ Acting, there is no weakest links, but only winners!
+ Who thought that the blend of cyberpunk and film noir would make such a great story
+ Soundtrack
+ The hard work and love they have put in their game outshines the small budget flawlessly

- Graphically a bit chipped especially moving humanoids aren't from this millenia
- Thee could have been space for more puzzles and investigation
- Connections to earlier games go beyond understanding of modern Tex Murphy fans

Tesla Effect - the latest installment of Tex Murphy games is still one of the best modern FMV games in steam. Inspired by Blade Runner and Total Recall for example mixed with classical Film Noir the story is really entertaining and full of excitement and charm. The main character is Tex a private detective who has lost his memory and to get it back he must solve the case which becomes more and more deeper by each picked clue.

The game is indie and was launched by 600k kickstarter, but does not feel like it. While the game's gameplay graphics are old and cheap it is the cutscenes which make it glow and actors do great jobs even if they were not the cream of Hollywood. Especially the main man of the development team and protagonist player Chris Jones is so full of energy and wit that it just wipes out even the most woeful face. The greenscreen is used frequently the quality has been taken seriously.

Tesla Effect takes around 14 hours to beat and there is actually quite many things to do between amazing cutscenes. The immersion of detective work is there, but the puzzles could have been a little bit harder. On the other hand though game never felt stalling the progress too much making it easy to stay interested with the story. There is also some options to make the game more difficult or easier.

It's a shame that the other Tex Murphy games are so old that they have itches in working modern systems, not to mention they might be barely fun to play on modern day standards, because the storyline might make even more sense if I knew what was there before. Whatsoever the game is more independent piece than a straight sequel.

To mark it out how much I like the game I do say that it is the best FMV game out there in steam (which I have played) and even on its full price each spent dollar is worth it. In best case scenario we might be having a new Tex Murphy game quite soon.

Totally worth of the time it asks. A simple freebie which shows promise of what is yet to come. If they will release longer and more puzzle rich games later they have good formula to compete with series like "The Room".

First things first I love GTA -series and I did play the main game twice and I am not trying to use any kind of reverse psychology to give this thumb down. It is just that I hate when as big company as Rockstar decides to put their own older titles on their knees and just waste them and call it The Complete Edition after. Alright it has the main game as well the two DLCs, but the game is ripped missing various good soundtracks they did not want to extend licenses for, multiplayer is gone and I can't really believe the crap that after all updates they did not put effort for fixing the helicopter climbing bug happening in the last mission. (they did add steam achievements though. wow) Consider this a protest review, because even the game is humiliated it is still standing solid otherwise.
