Just coming off of a bullet hell binge and I gotta say this game is boring af. The levels are purple and pink and so are most of the enemies (of which there are very few variations). There's hardly any upgrades that are meaningful or exciting. The text is barely legible for the sake of the games chosen aesthetic, which I get, but don't personally enjoy.

Got the game for $2.99 and still feels like a waste. It's nothing personal, there's just zero depth here. That kind of stuff where it's like yellow sword or red sword and it's the same exact sword art with different color and negligible stat differences... THRILLING.

Reading most of the other reviews says this game is 2 hours long, max. No way I can stand slogging through this repetitive sludge for even close to that.

Go play Tiny Rogues, Neophyte, Vampire Survivors, Boneraiser Minions, Brotato, 20 Minutes Until Dawn, and Rogue: Genesia instead.

It's just incredibly 'meh' imo. I want to like it but there are so many other options on the market that I personally find much more enjoyable. Wish I could give a sideways thumb.

The game is a decent tower defense game, with the nice twist of making your deck of special powers. But it needs more quality of life improvements, like a speed up function, a copy-paste function, etc. One thing that definitely needs an overhaul is the Options menu. There is no way to change resolution, windowed and borderless, as well as UI scaling, which I feel is desperately needed. Some text is almost too small to read.

Also the cards are not that imaginative, each weapon is basically given the same bonus cards, only with different names.
Last but perhaps more importantly, many players say there are a lot of balance to be done and you need only as of now poison sprayers and ballistas to win, basically. The rest is superfluous and even harmful as it dilutes your deck.

I use this for Bloons TD 6, PoE, HotS, etc. Having a high resolution on a widescreen makes it way too easy to lose track of your seemingly microscopic cursor amidst mid-game insanity. Yolomouse erases this problem entirely.
Worth. Every. Penny.

Criminally under the radar; a masterpiece!

Irwin, you've created one of my favorite pieces of digital art. The aesthetic and the soundtrack/audio combined with the clever mechanics (like opening your eyes while falling asleep) are brilliantly woven into one hell of a nightmarish quilt...that is oddly comfy. Something about this game feels like home and is nostalgic. Maybe that says more about me as a person than I care to admit...

Thank you for making something worth talking about, cheers.

Not much of a review; more of a reflection:

I remember playing Castle Crashers with the bois back on the xbox 360 in 2008; we were in high school and we were, for all intents and purposes, still very much children ourselves. We had a great time hacking and slashing our way through the games looney art work and enemy design. We unlocked some of the end game characters and weaponry and then, soon enough, we were on to other things. Like graduating, college, women, etc...you know, getting on with our 'real' lives.

WELL...

Fast forward 13 years and that whole 'gettin' on with my real life' thing has, oddly enough, led me to currently revisiting this title. Only this time, I'm playing it with my kid! To my disbelief, Castle Crashers has stood the test of time as one of the better couch co-op games available and provides just as many smiles in 2021 as it did in 2008.

It's oddly nostalgic to remember the times with the bois as a young pup; the hooting. hollering and high fives. Now, it's absolutely insane to me that after over a decade I'm able to get a whole new compilation of memories that are very much of joy and laughs, hoots and hollers, high fives and fist bumps with my own kiddo.

So thanks to 'The Behemoth' for creating a game that's been enjoyable to me both as a cynical, edge-lord teen and now as a loving family man.

...who knows...maybe one day I'll be playing it with my grandchildren :)

I'm so bad but this sh1t is so good.
Artwork is top notch
Combat is tighter than a nuns pu55y
We got robot cat b1tches, we got Egyptian b1tches, we got giant arms on their heads b1tches, we got that 1, 2, and/or 3 char team comps.

Skullgirls is the epitome of 'hidden gem'.
If you have 500+ games in your steam library but Skullgirls isn't one of them...you're doing it wrong.

The Brotherhood = clever bois
I haven't been this immersed in an imaginary world since I played Final Fantasy 7 as a 5 year old.
Beautiful Desolation is a beautiful game set in a beautiful world full of beautiful characters with beautiful voice acting. 10/10. Don't let it's difficulty detour you.

TL;DR: If you are a fan of sci-fi classics (both literary and film), STASIS is a must try/must have addition to your nerdy collection.

I started playing STASIS back in 2016. I'd get off work around midnight and chip away at it. Eventually life got in the way and STASIS sort of receded into the background. Coming back to it, nearly four years later, has proved to be more than worthwhile. STASIS checks all the boxes when it comes to utilizing the necessary elements found in a vast majority of sci-fi classics and, in my humble opinion, ends up shining as one itself.

The story starts with a repurposed mining vessel that now acts as an experimental research ship, floating out in the uncharted void. This ship of doom, the Groomlake, hijacks other crews and performs experimentation upon them, with no bounds (both moral and legal). The meat of the story is delivered via PDA entries and computer terminals for the most part with the voice acting only being triggered through key events as you, John Maracheck, desperately search for your missing daughter and wife.

STASIS truly shines in the puzzle department. This game will force you to embrace the horrifying desolation and destruction around you as you are pushed to wander and wonder, determining what appropriate combination of random 'ingredients'/items from the environment are required to move throughout the ship.

The pacing of STASIS is perfection. A plot that starts out as a confusing whisper eventually evolves into an absolute maelstrom. STASIS is truly an emotional game (maybe it's because I have a wife and child myself and am therefore immediately empathetic for John) or maybe it is just because it's wonderfully written and has amazing audio. Hell, let's say it's both.

My ONLY complaints with STASIS are the occasional glitch with the UI where you can't intuitively back out of a interactive menu or your own inventory. I've also had the game simply reload a prior save while I was in the middle of performing an action. This only happened twice to me throughout my play through but it is worth mentioning as it was both confusing and frustrating (depending on how much unsaved progress has been made).

Long story made short, support these South African developers. STASIS is a hidden gem. I eagerly anticipate The Brotherhoods upcoming 2020 release.
