CS:GO and Frozen Synapse had a one night stand. Door Kickers is the glorious product of their unprotected passions.

I came, I saw, I killed queens.

I can't say that I strongly recommend this game, but that doesn't mean that I don't recommend it at all. For those who are interested in hunting, tracking, dinosaurs, and cooperation read on.

The game is far from perfect and at times there are graphical issues that I do feel shouldn't be a part of a 'finished' game. When you use 'x' to free look for example, you can see through your character models body. It isn't a terrible issue that makes the game unplayable by any means, but you can't help but feel like that was something that the developers just decided to leave as is, instead of cleaning up the code and flushing it all out. I've also felt this unfinished feeling when a raptor charges me only to get glitched into a rock or the surrounding environment.

The auto run feature, which you use by pressing 'q', is an amazing implementation and I wish more games would incorporate such (listen up DayZ devs, I'm shouting in your direction).

If you like dinosaurs, the hunting experience and are able to handle some wandering around across a pretty large map this game is exactly what you are looking for. It is difficult, however, so be forewarned that nothing about this game is easy...especially if you are after the queen rex. I spent about 45 minutes hunting my first rex with a buddy of mine and this was both a stressful and satisfying experience that most games don't offer. The actual feeling of accomplishment upon taking down such a large and terrifying creature was worth the pain staking game of peek-a-boo we played while implementing strategical shots to the beasts vitals.

I personally enjoy the hell out of this game.
The display chart of where you hit the beast is an exceptionally well done & very rare feature of the shooter genre.

You want to go for the vital organs as headshots on dinos don't do too much damage. Remember how they have tiny brains?

To top off the chart, it shows who did what, how many shots you each hit the dinosaur with and where. (ex: the lungs, the kidneys, the heart, the spine, intestines, liver, body shots, etc.) and then it continues to break up the stats into a nice percentage read out. For example with the t rex we took down, I dealt 88% of the total damage and was able to see my shots highlighted on an x-ray chart of the dino, likewise, my buddies fired shots that hit and overall damage (22%) were displayed. You then get to take a screenshot of your accomplishments for all to see.

You are able to determine your location and meet up with other players via the GPS that you spawn with. Yes, you can place markers on important locations and yes there is a distance displayed on all your squad mates so you can spread out and cover more ground. As you roam, keep the GPS equipped in your left hand and search for others dead bodies and loot spawns. The GPS is also an incredibly valuable tool with which you will be able to track dinosaurs and recieve updated information about them (their species, their sex, etc.) You will also be able to tell how damaged a beast is that you have already wounded, what % of life they have left and where you hit them.

The weapon selection/dino variety is limited (I believe that there are only five dino species at the moment, all of which are aggressive, even the herbivores) and this is something else that makes the game feel slightly unfinished -- lack of content --

You can find clothing that increases your ability to hide (ghilly hats, shirt, pants, etc.) but again, there aren't many customization options for your character.

There are a few attatchments you can add to weapons, only optics related: red dot, scope with zoom, etc. No suppressors or compensators, extended magazines, flashlights, etc. A couple weapons I've used so far include the .308 single shot pistol, the .700, the shotgun with slugs ammo type, the .308 rifle with scope, the riot shotgun, the assault rifle and the anti .308 along with the bow and arrow setup. I know that a .50 cal sniper rifle is in the game, but I've had no interest in using it after having the .700.

There are dinosaur calls used to attract certain breeds and you can use dino eggs to cover your scent. You will find mushrooms littered throughout Eden, but be cautious as they can lead to death!

Two of last things I'd like to touch upon are the graphics and the audio of this game. The vegatation/forestation is epic. The night to day transistions are graceful and seem wonderfully natural. The dinosaur models are quite detailed. The weather effects are something to pay attention to as the rain/fog cuts your vision. It becomes crucial to be able to listen in the distance for the raptors calling to each other and planning their attack(s) or to hear the mild thunder of a Rex off in the distance looking for prey.

Final Word:
Pick the game up when it is on sale, don't expect a "Triple A" experience, and don't play it alone. If you aren't into dinosaurs, hunting, or co-op don't bother.
