Nosgoth was a free-to-play competitive 4 vs 4 multiplayer game. It was inspired by the Legacy of Kain series.
The game featured 11 different classes, 6 humans and 5 vampires and 7 different maps.
Nosgoth had several different game modes, usually only two or three were available at any time.
Team Deathmatch: Both teams fight each other with a goal of getting more kills than the opposing team.
New Recruit: Team Deathmatch specialised for new and lower-level players.
Flashpoint: The vampires have to prevent the humans capturing a siege points.
Capture the Body: A capture the flag variant where the vampires have the task to carry a corpse to a set spot on the map while the humans try to stop them.
5v5: Team deathmatch with 5 players on each team.
Leagues: Competitive team deathmatch. The top 100 players were eligible for cash prizes.
As a free-to-play game Nosgoth has had two separate in-game currencies, gold which could be earned by just playing and runestones which had to be bought with real money. Both could be used to unlock classes, new skills and weapons. With runestones players were able to buy cosmetics.
The graphics were good, nothing to complain about.
The sound was perfect, it did fit very well to the Legacy of Kain series.
Nosgoth was fun and entertaining and was also a great competitive multiplayer game.
The game had absolutely potential but unfortunately the playerbase was too low so it was decided to take Nosgoth offline on 31st May 2016.
The low playerbase was probably a result of some wrong decisions which has been made, like implementing a start launcher which has caused some players not beeing able to run the game anymore or to spend alot of money into leagues instead of promoting the game, or to fix current bugs instead of adding new content with even more bugs.
