Starbound is a sandbox-based RPG game that captivates players with its 2D, 16-bit graphics and immersive atmosphere.

The premise of the game is as follows: our world is being destroyed, and we find ourselves aboard a spaceship with limited fuel. We land on the nearest planet, and the adventure begins. Classic sandbox mechanics are at play here, but the quests and dialogues are written with much higher quality than those in typical RPGs. The game features an item/inventory system, weapon and tool usage, fuel mechanics, food and comfort elements, crafting systems, and much more—essentially everything exceeds my expectations.

Multiplayer mode is where you will truly get lost in the experience. While building your home alongside a friend to the tune of Canon in D, collecting inventory from military bases, and defeating bosses, you will witness an atmosphere like no other.

This game includes a race system, character customization, and an impressive array of tools and equipment such as clothing and armor. Interestingly, to explore planets without an atmosphere, you need to equip an oxygen generator on your back. The mining system goes beyond Minecraft; whether it's rubium or titanium, the variety and methods of crafting are top-notch. Additionally, you can break items from around you while building your home to take them with you.

To summarize, despite being a 8 year old game, Starbound remains a high-quality indie title that you can play from night until morning with its own music. You may recognize the developer from Stardew Valley. If your friend enjoys indie games as much as you do, definitely buy it and prepare for late-night gaming sessions! The game still receives updates from time to time.
