You're probably using a material which applies the LightmappedGeneric shader. That's for BSP geometry. You want VertexLitGeneric.

You want to apply the material to the object which is exported to cork.smd. It doesn't matter what material the physics mesh has.

The answer to 1 & 2 is to use DMX, which isn't affected by either issue. SMD is a very old format and it shows in some areas.

For 3, that bone won't be compiled into the model unless there are unweighted vertices. Have you confirmed that it's actually causing a problem?

That's odd, I'm pretty sure that I evaluate each frame and then export the final bone position. Can you upload a blend which reproduces the problem please?

There are Unicode characters somewhere messing things up. This is happening either in the QC file path or within the file itself. Try replacing any non-latin characters with ASCII.

Clicking the download link only seems to refresh the page. No matter though, I've tested it with my own export of the main Dota 2 map and it seems OK. Some things are in the wrong position but I suspect that's a bug with Hammer's exporter rather than my importer.
