as is, the mechs are not compatible with vanilla's upcoming mechs. Why are they not compatible? There are two reasons why.
1. XS mechs are not compatible because they are not uniform in size- many things in starbound are uniform in size for the sake of functionality, as such vanilla's mechs are uniform-designed.
2. XS mechs are technically vehicles, and will likely remain functional unless something in the vehicle architecture is changed.
XS mechs are superior in their own ways to vanilla's mechs- land-based combat, XS mechs have the advantage of seperate power systems and armor, whereas vanilla's mechs use the same bar for both armor and power systems.
I for one however, would like to see some XS parts for the upcoming vanilla mech system, many of the parts for vanilla's mechs require an absurd amount of later-game materials, and I've already mined myself bored for the past 5 years, between terraria and starbound.
