Need a Hint
*changed to be the full hint list - was originally an ask for hint discussion*
If you need a hint, find the hint below. If you tried the hint and still need further help or you have need of a different hint, ask it here.

Here is the full hint list.

NOTE: This guide is not intended as an order to go through the island. The maps are included in a very basic order. I tried to avoid giving away details of other maps as best I could.

Beach
Four Switch Puzzle
Hint 1: Aurelius and Enoch are deities on this island. Based on their descriptions they are opposites of each other.
Hint 2: The switches on one side should be the same as each other. The switches on the other side should be the same as each other. Aurelius is the God of Change. Enoch is the God of Stability.
Hint 3: The northern two switches should be down. The southern two switches should be up. Down is a 'pulled' lever indicating change. Up is not a 'pulled' lever indicating stability.

Fire and Water Puzzle
Hint 1: Read the signs next to the pedestals to learn about the deities on this island.
Hint 2: Aurelius is the God of Fire and Enoch is the God of Water
Hint 3: Place the fire orb on the pedestal for Aurelius and the water orb on the pedestal for Enoch

Beach Caverns
The Shut Gate
Hint 1: Read the note left for Everett in the caverns. It gives clues about this gate.
Hint 2: The button to open the gate is on the first side of the caverns. It must be hidden somewhere.
Hint 3: This is a double secret. The first button is where you found the key. It opens a timed door near the stairs into this area. The final button is within the secret area.

Teleport Portal
Hint 1: Look beyond the portal
Hint 2: That pressure switch may do something
Hint 3: Throw a rock onto the pressure switch

Three Pit Puzzle
Hint 1: This is a timing puzzle. Watch the puzzle but also keep an eye out for something that may help you.
Hint 2: Not all puzzles need to be brute forced. Perhaps there is something that stops the pits?
Hint 3: Along the wall between this puzzle and the crystal is a button on the wall that stops the pits.

Gate Puzzles
Hint 1: When a lever or button is pulled, take note of what doors change and how.
Hint 2: Sometimes you need to switch the lever twice to get a real good idea of how it changes things.
Hint 3: The answer will vary on how you proceed. Be aware that there are traps related to the alcoves. Finish off the monsters before going to the next alcove saving the key alcove for last.

Equilorn Tunnels
Pit Puzzle
Hint 1: This puzzle should feel familiar
Hint 2: This puzzle is fairly identical to the Teleport Portal puzzle of the Beach Caverns. However, why would there be a puzzle just like this... twice?
Hint 3: Throw a rock on the pressure plate. But before you do, try falling down the pit. You may be surprised at what you find.

Two Plate Puzzle
Hint 1: When the pressure plates are pressed matters
Hint 2: Try leaving a plate down before pushing another plate down.
Hint 3: Looking at the door, the plate on the left opens the gate. The plate in front you closes the gate. Put a rock on the gate in front of you and put a rock on the gate on the left.

Temple Grounds
Temple Entrance Portals
Hint 1: There is a sign nearby the center of the grounds that indicates that the entrances are restricted and how. So what would that sign imply based on what is known already?
Hint 2: Times of worship is a little strange. On the beach, you found a diary page that says every day at midday and every night at midnight strange drumming can be heard.
Hint 3: One temple entrance is open during Midnight and the other is open during Midday.

Strange Ruins Puzzle you will know what I mean when you find it
Hint 1: There is a ladder there and just beyond your reach is a pressure plate.
Hint 2: Once up top, what can you do? You can move forward... you can fall down... you can throw things...
Hint 3: At each step, try throwing rocks in places you have not thrown before - especially over the wall. Eventually, you will find a teleporter to step through. Extra credit: you can get all your rocks back.

Upper Catacombs
Portal Puzzle
Hint 1: There are switches that alter the portal configurations
Hint 2: Using your map (or a piece of paper) mark down where portals are located. Then switch one switch and note what changes.
Hint 3: On the West wall, going left to right: Down, Down, Up, Up, Down. On the East wall, going left to right: Up, Up, Up, Down.

Treasure Room Puzzle
Hint 1: You found the secret room but still cannot get to it. There is a lever. When you pull it, does anything change inside the room?
Hint 2: When you pull the lever, a light inside the room comes from the ceiling and you can hear a pit open/close.
Hint 3: When the lever is pulled the light shines from above because you can fall down into this room from above. Above you is the Temple Grounds. There is a pit door that was originally closed, it will be opened.

The Study - Teleporter
Hint 1: Look for magic scrolls in this room and read them
Hint 2: One scrolls reads Create Teleporter. Read it carefully.
Hint 3: The scroll indicates it finishes a create teleporter ritual where a rune exists. The rune is within this room. Cast the spell next to the rune and you will create a teleporter. This is import to note.

The Study - Crystal
Hint 1: The force field and crystal are related somehow
Hint 2: When the crystal is charged, activate the force field
Hint 3: The force field drains the crystal. This is important to keep in mind.

The Study - Pit Puzzle - Knowledge is Power
Hint 1: Be sure to read all of the wall texts before pulling levers
Hint 2: Try making sure that the Quiz/Sequence lever is Down. Then pull the other lever near it. Keep an eye on what changes.
Hint 3: This is Ilius' way of teaching himself how to count in Du'Gai. When you pull the lever, look at the wall text and mark the word and then count the number of pits that are CLOSED.

The Study - Pit Puzzle - Part 2
Hint 1: On the furthest wall, there is a wall text with words. How do those words relate to what is in the room?
Hint 2: Perhaps there is something to do with the resulting pits based on those words
Hint 3: Pull the number lever until Chea appears. Put items on the closed pits. Pull the number lever until Lod appears. Put items on the closed pits. Pull the number lever until Teth appears and then pull it one more time. The result should happen. If it does not, pull the lever next to the Chea and Lod wall text to retrieve the items.

Lower Catacombs
Portal Puzzles
Hint 1: There are four levers where you came in. But pulling them does nothing. Perhaps there's a way to 'activate' them?
Hint 2: In the north, there are some pits. Perhaps this has something to do with it? Further, if you got past that, the levers may not be working still, perhaps you should start over with them.
Hint 3: Throw a rock over the two pits in the north to activate the levers. Then, ONE AT A TIME, pull a lever down to open the corresponding portal. If more than one lever is down, the portals remain active.

The Double Key
Hint 1: Perhaps you should try to get by the portals first
Hint 2: Two keys are needed, check everywhere for them
Hint 3: Finish the Portal Puzzles puzzle to check all of the alcoves for the keys.

The Third Key
Hint 1: This key is hard to find. Have you checked all of the alcoves? If so, where else could it be?
Hint 2: Perhaps this key was too important to leave lying around.
Hint 3: The key was carried by one of the monsters you killed on this side. I included this spoiler in case you killed the monster and did not see the key drop, which I've done before. ;)

High Priest Tombs
Shard Puzzle
Hint 1: A lever that fires a shard... and a bunch of words that make no sense. Perhaps there is a way to interpret these words elsewhere on the island? Perhaps that shard is supposed to go somewhere?
Hint 2: Be sure to take note of The Study - Pit Puzzle - Knowledge is Power puzzle. But things are still a little complicated to interpret. You may be able to extrapolate how to intrepret the words. The 'Lever Room' is how you manipulate this puzzle. Take note of the wall texts opposite of the levers.
Hint 3a: Each wall text along the corridor is a number... the suffix 'ta is the Du'Gai way of saying th. For example, we say Seventh, but the Du'Gai would say Ril'ta. When a number is a prefix to 'Teth, it is an adjustment by the power of 10. So, Voa'Teth would be 20. Voa'Teth'Ril'ta would be 27th.
Hint 3b: Go into each room and open the levers so the shard flies all the way. Levers looking left to right... First door (1): 000001. Second Door (4): 000101. Third door (16): 110000. Fourth Door (19): 110100 or 110011. Fifth Door (21): 111000. Sixth Door (23): 111010. Seventh Door (27): 111111.

Mall of Enoch
Spike Puzzle
Hint 1: Is there a way to avoid the spikes?
Hint 2: Once the spikes activate do they activate a second time?
Hint 3: Place a rock on the ground into the spike trap. Then step onto it. Pick up the rock and repeat.

Philosopher Stone Puzzle
Hint 1: Pushing a single stone may do something. Examine your surroundings for what changes. If the stones are not activated, there should be a lever somewhere to activate them.
Hint 2: The stones move the teleporter a certain amount. Going over the amount resets the puzzle.
Hint 3: Going left to right, Push the first, third and fourth stones.

Teleporter Puzzle
Hint 1: You can see across the water that there's stuff over there. How do you get over there?
Hint 2: Perhaps the switches to activate the portals are in an unusual place?
Hint 3: The switches are pressure plates in the water. There are three of them. Put something on each pressure plate then go back up top and throw a rock.

Mall of Enoch High Priest Switch
Hint 1: There is a switch where the high priest normally stands to address the people. But does it do anything? Perhaps there is written indication somewhere why this switch does not work. If you hate reading, could there be a reason to hide something here? Who would it be hidden from and why? Those questions may lead you in the right direction.
Hint 2: One of the ripped out pages of the diary indicates that the mall switches were altered in some way. That should tell you what you need to know.
Hint 3: The switches were altered to 'work only during times when the Du'Gai would not be in the mall.' Do be sure of this, they are the exact opposite times the mall is open. Since this mall is only accessible during midnight, then the switch would be the exact opposite.

Temple of Enoch
Omitted timing puzzles and traps and such. I'm sure those are self explanatory.

Ogre and Skeleton Room Puzzle
Hint 1: This room has four pressure plates... some gates... etc.. Does placing anything on the plates do anything?
Hint 2: Enoch is the God of Stability. He does not like things to change so there is only one combination for each door. Perhaps having multiple doors open won't work. Perhaps it has to be done one at a time.
Hint 3: The first two pressure plates on the left and right open the first gate. The other pressure plates control the side doors. Only one door can be open at a time so be sure to deactivate and activate as needed.

Tome Key Room
Hint 1: There are six levers on the wall that you can adjust. Each lever has a word next to it. Perhaps there is somewhere else in the area that tells you how to resolve this?
Hint 2: Continue looking around, you will come back here.
Hint 3: Look up Temple of Enoch Commons Key Rooms puzzle. The answer changes with each play through.

Antichamber Room - big room with lots of pressure plates
Hint 1: There should be some manner to open this door. But there is no answer nearby. You may need to investigate further.
Hint 2: Where would the 'key' for this door be hidden? Who would hide it? What could be on the other side? Are there any switches so far that have not done anything?
Hint 3: See Mall of Enoch High Priest Switch puzzle

Temple of Enoch Commons
Key Rooms Puzzle
Hint 1: There is a way to get into each room and each room has a very specific purpose
Hint 2: There is a switch in the south that opens the next door around this area. What information can be gleamed from what is in each room?
Hint 3a: Perhaps this information can be used else within this temple.
Hint 3b: This is the answer to the Tome Key Room

Mall of Aurelius
Omitted timing puzzles

Portal Puzzle
Hint 1: Perhaps throwing rocks and pushing pressure plates may help you proceed
Hint 2: Once you get in, the first door closes, how can you open it?
Hint 3: You need to undo all pressure plates before leaving this area.

Mall of Aurelius High Priest Switch
Since this mall is only accessible during midday, then the switch would be the exact opposite.

Temple of Aurelius
Gas Trap Room
Hint 1: What causes the gas trap to go off? Is it a particular place you step? Aurelius is the God of the Sun.
Hint 2: Is there anything specific about that place stepped just before the trap goes off that is different then where you were before? Perhaps that tells you what you need to know.
Hint 3: Step only on spaces where the light from the ceiling hits the floor.

Two Rooms With Three Switches Puzzle
Hint 1: What do you know about Aurelius?
Hint 2: Aurelius is the God of Change.
Hint 3: The switches in one room should be the opposite of the switches in the other room. Align them left to right when you enter the room. The answer is different each play through.

Philosophers Stone Puzzle
Hint 1: Be sure to try both switches and witness what is going on
Hint 2: The platforms disappear when the shard hits the other side of the room. How can you stop that?
Hint 3: Activate the floor and move the blocks to cover the first, second and third routes. Be sure to give enough room to run across the room. Pull the lever to activate the platforms and run to the open spot to be the 4th blocker. When the shard hits you, climb up the ladder and cross the first platform before the next shard disables it.

Tome Key Room - the room with 5 ceiling openings, 6 levers and words on the wall
Hint 1: The answer for this room is located somewhere else in this temple
Hint 2: Check for rooms that have similar counts to them, levers, etc...
Hint 3: These switches must match what is in the room to the south east. This is an interesting departure from the fact that Aurelius is the God of change.

Hint 3: See Mall of Aurelus High Priest Switch puzzle

The Village
Activating the Stones
Hint 1: The stones are disabled, look for a way to enable them
Hint 2: There is a place for an Ornate Key but you just used yours for entering the Village. Where could you find another one?
Hint 3: Go through the portal that is activated and see what you find. Inside there is a key with a note from a concerned mother. ;)

Stones Puzzle
Hint 1: Now that the stones are activated, have you moved one to see what happens? Did you notice ANYTHING change? If not, put them back where they were originally and see.
Hint 2: This is a combination lock for opening portals. You know the original portal key (it was set when you got here). You know a second key (for the Mines). How can you translate the key to where the stones should be placed based on the words? Do you know what the words mean? If not, there may be a clue as to what they mean elsewhere on the island or in other puzzles.
Hint 3: The keys are found elsewhere in the game. However, to interpret them you will need to know how to count in Du'Gai. Pull up your map and number the placements incrementally left-to-right, top-to-bottom using Du'Gai numbers to be able to solve this puzzle.

The Hive
Snail Puzzle
Hint 1: Somewhere there is a snail in here
Hint 2: When you found the snail there was a note with it. Did you read the note?
Hint 3: Take the snail to Elder Dena's room and place it in the alcove.

The Dark Wood
Three Pedestals
Hint 1: Someone HAS To have documented how to figure out this puzzle. What should be placed on the pedestals? Other documents indicate it is the rebels who made this area. Perhaps look where the rebels lived and worked? Maybe one of the rebel leaders knows?
Hint 2: Elder Dena is one of the rebel leaders. Perhaps you can find him or some indication as to how to figure this out in his room.
Hint 3: Using the village stones, enter Elder Dena's room with the Snail. Place the Snail on the alcove. Look through his papers and you will see someone mention placing the primary color gems onto the pedestals. Now you know what to do. The letter mentions where the gems are located (across the island).
Hint 4: The gems are located in the Mines, Mall of Enoch and the High Priest Tombs

Plate Puzzle
Hint 1: You are in the heart of the rebel attempt to escape now. The answer MUST be found somewhere with the rebel documents. Check the Hive.
Hint 2: Someone working on this would know. Check Elder Dena's room and see if you can find anything. Maybe check some of the other rebel rooms. Anyone else recently executed?
Hint 3: X'ati wrote a note to one of the rebels. It is the answer.
Hint 4: The path of the rebel is the rebel symbol you have been finding all over the island.
Hint 5: Align the symbol to the north with the plate grid and draw the symbol by stepping on the plates. If you hear a 'click', you have mis-stepped.
Hint 6: Move to the second row, first column. Move East two steps. Move North one step. Move West one step. Move south five steps (off the grid). Move west two steps. Move north two steps. Move east five steps. Move north two steps. Move west one step. Move South one step. You will hear an indication that you have succeeded and a key will appear on the altar.
Hint 7: Opening the portal is the end of the scenario. There are 5 endings based on the things you have achieved.

The Sanctum
Voa Voa Kyi Puzzle
Hint 1: Try pushing the wall buttons and examining all three wall texts
Hint 2: You are trying to get the wall texts to be the same as the lone wall text
Hint 3: Push the left button first. Push the right button. Place something on the pressure plate and push teh right button again.

Dance Hall
Hint 1: This room is a trap room. There HAS to be some way to know how to move through the room without dying.
Hint 2: Look through Ilius' notes and diaries to determine if he ever thought of something interesting enough to base a security measure off of it.
Hint 3: In the Study, Ilius makes note of an interesting dance. This is called the Dance Hall.
Hint 4: Walk straight into the room, step on the pressure plate and then follow the dance steps precisely.
Hint 5: The dance steps are: forward, right, back, back, left, forward, left, forward, right, forward, forward. Once you deactivate the room, it remains deactivated.

Fire Hall - not labeled
Hint 1: There are pressure plates everywhere, perhaps there's something to do with that.
Hint 2: Throw a rock on a pressure plate and see what happens
Hint 3: Climb the ladder, throw south. Throw West. Walk around catwalk until you are 1 space away from the wall. Throw north. Move south one space and throw west.

The Inner Sanctum
Final Fight
Hint 1: Ilius has transformed due to the power of the crystals. If you are here too soon you will likely get crushed.
Hint 2: Look for divine help
Hint 3: Ilius has created this sanctum using the power of the crystals. When he teleports to use the crystal, perhaps that means there is a rune there. Perhaps you can finish the teleport ritual.

Excellent mod, well balanced. need help understanding the strange langage written by the six lever puzzles.tried lots of combinations to open gate to get a key. thanks again.

Thank you! Appreciate the compliments. To answer you specifically, I would need to know the map you are on.

I am assuming you are in a temple. If you are not, stop reading. Continue looking around. The answer will be in the temple somewhere. Look for areas where there are a similar number of levers and may even have the same words near them.

I've seen endings 1, 2, 4 and 5 now, yet ending 3 eludes me. Any hints on that one?
Enoch Dagor  [开发者] 2015 年 6 月 1 日 上午 10:26
Sure :)
Hint: You could consider this a logic puzzle. If 1,2,4,5 all were based on whether Ilius is dead or the brothers are freed... you might be able to extrapolate the missing item.
Answer: Free both brothers but do not kill Ilius.

When i do this i get ending 2.

Oops
Told you the wrong one. It is do not kill ilius and save only one brother.
Dr.Disaster 2015 年 6 月 3 日 上午 8:18
Heh yeah, just figured it out by trying :-)

It did not make a difference when i tried it after winning the boss fight so i did not think about it again. Thx for the heads up!

I wish every mod author had a thread like this! Good job, liking it so far!
sofasleeper 2015 年 7 月 3 日 下午 4:59
Enjoying it for the most part. If I had to complain it would be the multitude of switches that you just have to trust end up doing something somewhere far away with no auditory or visual feedback... and the gas chamber room. I think that one is bordering on 'can only do it after reloading a couple times'. Getting caught in a trap is fair enough, but that room pretty much just fills up and I can't even see the way out.

To the matter at hand; I must be missing something obvious with the high priest switch puzzles. They both seem to do nothing (I'm assuming they open the tomb doors in the antichambers?) Even at the 'opposite' time (midnight instead of midday and vice versa). Running back and forth from the switch to the antichamber door just to find the door still closed is becomng tiresome.

Can you spoil that puzzle further for me? Instruct me like I was a German Shepherd.
Enoch Dagor  [开发者] 2015 年 7 月 3 日 下午 6:09
Gas room response: The gas room only fills up as a penalty for not solving the puzzle. That deity is the god of the sun/light. So staying in the light was the point.

Antichamber response: Can you be more specific as to where this is? Describe the room as I do not want to spoil the wrong puzzle for you.
sofasleeper 2015 年 7 月 3 日 下午 6:57
Silly me, I missed the 'Study' the first time through the area.. I'm backtracking a bit and have a feeling I might learn something handy. I'll proceed with new knowledge hopefully. I think it might make a difference :O

I'm not sure that hint I'm looking for is here. I found the Note mentioning that there is a reserruction spell gained by extending the healing spell and pushed a character up to concentration five to make use of it. However no matter how I extend the spell - forwards, backwards, even reusing a rune nothing seems to happen. Did I waste a skill point?

Fantastic mod by the way, I think I'm enjoying it even more than I did the original game :)
Enoch Dagor  [开发者] 2015 年 7 月 7 日 下午 6:03
Freaked me out cuz I thought I screwed it up somehow. Anyway, the spell is 41236985 assuming the spaces are numbered 1-9 left to right, top to bottom. It works on any character that is dead that is NOT the caster. If the caster is alive, he casts the spell and it will resurrect any dead characters in the party. Hope that helps.
x_equals_speed 2015 年 7 月 7 日 下午 11:42
Didn't mean to freak you out, I suspect my mistake was trying to extend the wrong spell. I thought it was an extension on the party healing spell 41256, so tried 412563 412569 first, then 741256 then started looking at repeat runes like 541256 or even 412565 (which is just 4125).

Thanks for the solution :) I feel like I shouldn't make use it in my game until I come across the clue/spell that I missed though ;)
Enoch Dagor  [开发者] 2015 年 7 月 8 日 下午 6:49
There is an actual spell recipe for it within the mod somewhere. :)
