Don't build fighters/vettes in squads, they are more effective as single units. (except bombers that is)

it's not a matter of effectiveness but of number; it must be said that the number of hunters/corvettes is more than limited (less than 50 hunters is nothing in this context).

The reason for such limited unit caps (even on maximum settings) is down to engine limitations. The sheer amount of new stuff that this mod adds means that if the caps were the same as vanilla the game engine would not be able to handle it and it would crash, regardless of how beefy your pc is.

Different engine. It's not possible with this one

Also there is much fewer new stuff in old complex, there is only two races, so its possible to have higher caps without crashing

Cool. Well guess that's me not playing then if "engine limits" means I can't play a game with more than 100 ships. So much for epic late game battles. Guess I'll stick to SOASE

Complex is still pretty epic late game, but yeah nowhere near the scale as Sins.
