Newbie problems
I just started playing Complex and, to my surprise, just got absolutely steamrolled. A Vaygr mothership managed to essentially waltz through my entire fleet, my battlecruisers got stuck and refused to move out of range of the enemy fleet and despite me using every ship I had, I barely made a dent in the AI's mothership. Is there a reason for this other than me being an idiot? Am I missing something?

Did the mothership perhaps use a protective shield?

It did yes - but I didn't think these were impentrable? It also lasted the entire duration of the fight.
