You cant increase the amount of resource collectors you can build, as that is limited by your fleet size cap. To play games with a larger fleet, you must specify in the game setup options. To be honest I don't remember it saying that it would increase the number of collectors you can have, and it never could, perhaps you misread in the description that you can build container modules on it to increase your resource storage cap?

in the description it says that it will upgrade the unit cap .. logical in my opnion, cause if not , what is the purpose of 6 depot/harvesters if you are limited to 26 collectors///

Noone builds SIX scavengers/depots LOL. The cap that they are in is also taken up by non-combat capital ships e.g. carriers so if you did that not only would you be wasting RUs when you could simply have one depot and some refineries for some smaller nodes you would not be able to field any carriers, which are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ essential in any match.

i did it only to see if it changed the unit cap of collectors as it is described in the description. anyway , the unit cap of collector is an issue .. why all other unit can be researched to augment the limit but not the collectors ? :-(
