[Obsolete] Natural Gravity - make asteroids have ship-pulling gravity

Dedicated Server issue
I have a dedicated server running this mod. When I log in and set gravity to a asteriod, it workd for me just fine. But when another player logs in and comes to the same asteriod, they are not effected by the gravity.

In an attepted to try and find out where the issue is, I set up a single player map and opened it to Friends to join. When myself and another player are on that map gravity functions like expected.

This is a great mod. Something that SE needs to have as default ingame. And will be part of my mods list for a long time to come.

Game devs said they are planning to add planets and stuff which most likely will involve natural gravity :}

Did you also test /ng create while the other player was in the DS and near you ?

I did test on my local DS and apparently the server doesn't receive the blocks, which might indicate an issue with the modding API since this worked before just fine, I'll ask around to see if anyone else has issues with this particular API method.

One last question. How do you set NG to be automaticly added to asteriods?

To *all* asteroids? I don't recommend that xD mainly because most asteroids are hollow or have giant holes in the middle.

Nevertheless you can do that by setting/adding the "Asteroid_" prefix in the config file.

As I said in the description:

Additionally, the mod can automatically add gravity to asteroids with certain prefixes, by default 'gravity_' prefixed asteroids have gravity added to them.

You can rename asteroids but it involves renaming the .vx2 files and renaming them in the SANDBOX_0_0_0_.sbs file, if you don't know what you're doing then just use the commands.

Might have an idea if your interested. Have you thought of adding an option(s) to the config that only certain asteriod types could have gravity?

Example: Junkyard_RaceAsteroid_: 0 (0 being disabled./ 1 being enabled)

That way, by default the asteriods with large tunnels going through them, or hollow asteriods can be set to disabled by default.

You can just add their full name to the config and they'll have gravity...

The mod checks if the name starts with but doesn't exclude it if its entire name is the prefix.

Ok, I was wondering that.

So if I did it like this for example:
asteroid_prefix=Junkyard_RaceAsteroid_

It would add it to just the Junkyard_RaceAsteroid_, am I correct?

Having that prefix set-up and having an asteroid named "Junkyard_RaceAsteroid_" and one named "Junkyard_RaceAsteroid_5218952189", the mod will add gravity on both of them.

another problem on DS. when i added the prefix to my asteroids (the ones i wanted) it added grav but was not registered as having it ingame. also the total grav on 1 asteroid was over 200g. it still wouldn't affect ships and it also causes alot of lag. thought you would like to know about the issues even though im not using on DS anymore (mainly lag issues prevents use) but i may still use on offline worlds.

I fixed a similar issue on 20th feb, did that happen before that date ?

EDIT: I just tested on a map that already had gravity, I added its asteroid name to the prefixes and it didn't add gravity on top of it :-??

Ah nvm, I configured the wrong mod id =)
Yes there is an issue with multiple gravity gens spawned, not sure what's up with that, gonna investigate :}

EDIT: Weird stuff, I wanted to re-replicate it and now I can't... I don't know what's happening :/

Well, I still can't replicate the issue, it did happen once for me but when I reset to test it again, it doesn't happen anymore. There must be certain conditions or something...

I can add a check next to the asteroid checking to make sure there isn't more than one gravity at the same position, it shouldn't affect lag but can fix this unknown issue :-??

At least until I find out what causes it.
