Frontlines: Combat Realism Overhaul (FCRO)

CURRENT FEATURES (v1.3)

Camera Features
  • Tactical Camera: Extended zoom-out distance for better battlefield awareness.
  • High Visibility: Increased LOD (Level of Detail) to see action clearly when zoomed out.
  • Clear Atmosphere: Removed grey atmospheric haze for crisp visibility.

Infantry Weapon Rebalancing
All infantry weapons completely overhauled with realistic engagement ranges:
  • Bolt-Action Rifles: 180m (+50% from vanilla)
  • Semi-Auto Rifles: 175m (M1 Garand, SVT-40, G43)
  • Machine Guns: 140-180m (LMGs to HMGs)
  • Submachine Guns: 100m (Close-quarters dominance)
  • Sniper Rifles: 200m (Precision fire)
  • Anti-Tank Rifles: 160m (Effective against light armor)

Vision & Detection Overhaul
  • Harder to Spot: General spotting reduced by 20% — ambushes and flanking actually work.
  • Tank Blindness: Tanks have severely limited vision and now REQUIRE infantry support to survive.
  • Stealth Mechanics: Prone + cover + stealth = nearly invisible. Silenced weapons produce zero detection signature.

Infantry Movement
  • Smoother Traversal: Walking and prone crawling speeds increased.
  • Tactical Pacing: Run speeds remain unchanged to maintain combat rhythm.

Vehicle Rebalancing (WIP)
  • Range Increase: All tank/SPG/AA gun ranges increased by 25%.
  • Physics: Slower, more realistic vehicle speeds and armor penetration values. Vehicles feel weighty.
  • Economy: Reduced starting fuel and rebalanced costs based on historical production data.

Enhanced Explosives
  • Lethality: HE shells, grenades, mines, and satchel charges are now devastating.
  • Mortars: Ranges increased 25% (81mm: 200m, 120mm: 290m).
  • Rocket Artillery: Buffed ranges (Katyusha: 390m, Nebelwerfer: 375m).

AI & Economy Overhaul
  • Independent Economy: AI economy is completely separated from the player. They build armies based on their own logic, not by mirroring you.
  • Faction Doctrines: Nations have custom purchasing preferences (e.g., German Armor focus vs. Soviet Infantry focus).
  • MACE Compatibility: Fully compatible with MACE.




DEVELOPMENT ROADMAP

Phase 2: Tactical Proficiency (v1.4 - In Development)
  • Veterancy Impact:
    • Morale & Retreat: Distinct behavior changes; veterans hold the line where green troops rout.
    • Stat Divergence: Widening the performance gap (accuracy/reload/stamina) between recruits and vets.
  • Elite Awareness: Scripting advanced vision and reaction times for Elite units.

Phase 3: Entrenchment & Fortifications (Next Major Update)
  • Field Engineering Overhaul: Deployable trenches, sandbags, and tank traps.
  • Defensive Doctrine: AI incentives to utilize cover and fortifications rather than rushing.

Phase 4: Logistics & Supply (Future)
  • Logistics Overhaul: Reworking ammo/fuel delivery and reliance on supply trucks.
