SUGGESTIONS
If you have ideas for balance changes like default stat values, crafting recipes, etc, leave them here!

You can also suggest more major changes to the mod like new abilities, reworked perks, etc, but keep in mind that I am far less likely to implement them due to the time that would be required.

If you have discovered some of this mod's secrets and have suggestions regarding them, please do so using spoiler tags.


Mechanic/Perk changes I am considering:
  • 'Unleash' ability for Kris
  • Buffs for non-attacking abilities when weapon is upgraded (ex. Courage)
  • Kris SOUL shenanigans? One of the first ideas I had for this mod was for Kris to remove the SOUL and the player control that instead of Kris for a bit, but it's hard to make it 1. fun to play and 2. in character for Kris to do. (also it'd be extremely hard to program lolol)
  • More cakes for Ralsei? don't know what they would do though
  • Limit total # of Lancers per world? Was originally only going to allow 2, but scrapped it to focus on other stuff

Visual/Fluff changes I am considering:
  • More skins (obviously)
  • Unique bonesaw sprites for Susie and Kris (already have ones in mind but never got around to it)
  • Changed appearance for Ralsei's scarf to match his current skin

Would you consider a config for adding durability to the Gang's unbreakable weapons? They have easy recipes anyway.

if the weapons get durability, it'll be 'unbreakable but cannot be used at 0% durability.' the crafting recipes only exist in case you lose them.

that's a fair addition to suggest; i just didn't wanna deal with it with everything else the mod had going on lol

Made it to about day 28 as solo Susie. Gotta say, the damage output on her is... not as high as I expected it would be. I get having an infinite weapon makes it hard to balance out its damage output, but dealing 41 damage with her main weapon feels too weak for the character who is supposed to be the "brute DPS character" of the trio.

Rude Buster is also rather underwhelming at the moment. For what is a brutal burst of damage in the original game, it is currently unable to one-shot even a simple enemy like a spider. For its TP cost and rev-up, I'd expect a bit more of a punch, like at least 125 damage (I would even go as high as 175-200 frankly, given you will only realistically be able to use this continuously against bosses) so you can 1 shot spiders and 2 shot pigs.

This is a fair criticism; I'm so used to complaints for mod characters being overpowered that I may have gone too far in the other direction. In retrospect, Rude Buster's DPS is almost immediately beat by regular attacks, and the fact that you can attack from a distance isn't a strong enough advantage.

If Rude Buster is too underpowered, then I'm guessing most attacking abilities are also underpowered? In that case, perhaps all damage from abilities should be doubled? Like so:

Rude Buster: 150(ish)
X-Slash: 200
Red Buster: 400 (or more?)

probly already said already but me and my buds were playing and early impressions of them are going okay so far tho we mostly agreed susie felt a underpowered being able to not be able to equip backpacks after wearing armor is a harsh downside as well doesnt feel worth it with her dps being seeming lower then kris (kris seems okay so far) ralsei been fairly fun tho def should be more cakes (also maybe double all damage might be a bit much even if the dps is a bit low tp gain is very fast) also lil thing target dummys give tp per hit they probly shouldnt since its free healing and tp they probly shouldnt give tp otherwise great mod so far!

Yeah, to add onto other my other post, I found that Susie's downside is more of an inconvenience than a downside. Admittedly this is a cute idea on paper (since it mimics her original in-game behaviour) but in the end it just means I won't be able to use a Tam o' Shanter or Miner Hat (I haven't tested it yet, but if she can't wear the Enlightened Crown for the same reason, that's a big problem too).
In general, I also found that the Horned Headband to be severely underpowered as well. It is understandable that solo play shouldn't be as efficient as having a Kris player on board, but this item's crafting cost is too steep for how short it lasts- especially in the case of a spell like Red Buster, I found that I was only able to get in 1 or 2 uses before it completely went away and I had to use another Headband to use it again (which costs 20 HP every time). I'd suggest that either the crafting recipe is buffed a bit, or that the duration of the Soul Shine effect to allow more leniency.

(Also, I hope all this criticism doesn't make it sound like I didn't enjoy my time! During my time playing, I absolutely loved not only the character art but also just how in-character all of the quotes you've written are. I'm providing feedback so that it's even more fun to continue playing with these characters :) )

what about something akin to Wanda's ability to not lose her character items on death? (even if it's a toggle)

also i haven't noticed if there's something that does this, but it would be cool to have some sort of tell that you can upgrade Kris' sword when you get the item that is used for it (isnt there a character that does something similar to this? i actually don't remember). even if it's something vague-ish like:
"*(For a moment, you feel your sword shift around in its scabbard)", and if you keep carrying it around or pick it up again it says something more obvious idk

to add to the Rude Buster fire, personally i feel like you shouldn't be too scared of giving it a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amount of damage lmao, Willow gets to choose between a 750 damage nuke or a 750 damage fleet of ICBMs every 10 seconds for the price of killing a few bees on DAY ONE, Wanda does 150 damage per hit with +2 range basically for free, Maxwell can stunlock and blind every boss, and the list goes on. ♥♥♥♥ it, give it 2 or 3 hundo planar damage, it'll be cool

My suggestion toward Kris would be just a meme at this point, I'd love seeing more items that bring characters even for a short amount of time, similarly to Lancer, having Dealmaker/Puppet Scarf to summon Spamton.

As for Susie, maybe add Wilson's "beard" slots for her in reference of her stealing Chulk at the start? That would at very least reduce some of the inventory issues, but not completely.

I'm not sure if this is intentional, but when I use Defend, my armor takes the full durability damage instead of being reduced according to Defend’s damage reduction

@cyborgjo @Darkcape Susie can equip things like backpacks and miner hats if you give her armor to wear in the opposite slot. I.e if you need to remove torso armor, you need to give her hat armor to wear instead. She's fine so long as she has 1 item with the armor component on.
Do I need to make this more clear in the writeup?

@Autumnis Why don't you experiment more with Susie's UltimateHeal as it is currently implemented and get back to me?

@企鵝公主 Uhhhhhhhhh idk about this one. Do you also lose full durability damage when using Wigfrid's shield? The fun gang's defend works basically the exact same way.

Having a refuelable weapon that stops functioning at 0% durability (but still retains the ability to cast non-TP skills?) could be cool!

On another note, I know it's a big undertaking but are skilltrees a thought for the future?

and I likely have to make the weapon entirely unequippable at 0% durability... enabling and disabling radial abilities is annoying so i'd rather just prevent you from accessing them at all lolllll
