Some in-game actions or actions from other mods don't recognize the "open" state of an object. So if picking up an open drawer is blocked, or a function of a brushing your teeth mod is blocked, this is the reason.

EASY FIX: Highlight the ground as your active container, so the item closes. Now you can pick it up, mess with it, or use it.

Looks like this is simply because there are two states for each container now: open and closed, and most other mods only register the default closed option.
