now that you mention it i forgot to enable thorium (i will die of shame if that was the problem)

Yeah try that, see what happens. (it should have worked without Thorium, but if you dont get an error, I think I might have a fix)

glad that worked! Also, I figured out the issue, it was because for the second time, I forgot to reference Thorium, causing having it disabled to throw that error. Will publish new build with that fixed and Thorium configs.

So does the mod need Thorium in order to work at the moment?

Oh, I didn't have the latest version. Usually, my game installs the latest updates automatically.
