I noticed that rounded corners will show the terrain under the wall. Is this potentially related to dds image conversion or is this a compromise from how rounded corners have to rendered/implemented?

You can build a floor under it so that it doesn't show the terrain, but that can be a bit tedious if you don't think about it before building the wall.
