FAQ
How do I unlock the "Officer Training Programme" Research?
Activate more Phoenix bases! 3 additional bases after your starting base

What is a good primary class for the Officer?
The Officer has been purposely designed to have limited synergy with other classes. However, given that the Officer is a Willpoint-hungry class, a good primary would be any that you generally don't spend many Willpoints with. This will depend on play-style and which version of the game you play (default or Terror from the Void).

I don't usually play with the Tutorial, can I still have a member of my starting squad be an Officer?
Sure you can! Terror From the Void players can already play with Officer Sophia straight off the bat. For those playing the default game, check out this other mod I made a few months ago that gives you Sophia as a starting character for non-tutorial starts: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3137579662
Consider giving it a thumbs up if you decide to use it! :steamhappy:

Can I enable this mod for an existing campaign?
You can, but there are a few caveats to this statement:
  • Sophia won't be an Officer even if you haven't selected her second class yet.
  • Changes to the Assault and Sniper will only apply for new recruits that spawn after the mod has been enabled.
  • Since the class research is unlocked by activating bases and this condition is not retroactive for existing campaigns, there's a chance that you won't have enough bases left to activate.
For the best experience, I'd recommend starting a new campaign.

EDIT: It has been brought to my attention that the mod causes issues with the manufacturing menus for existing campaigns, so a new campaign is likely necessary. This issue has since been fixed as of Version 1.2.

What was imbalanced about Onslaught and Marked for Death? You've barely changed them!
This is a fairly involved question, but I'll try to keep my answer short:
  • Onslaught is an underestimated ability; it serves as both a "Get out of jail free card" and a "Combo maker" for some of the game's most powerful ability combinations. By limiting Onslaught to one soldier per mission, it removes some of the cheesier (albeit creative) applications that were possible while it was on the Assault, such as "cheerleading" (using Onslaught multiple times on the same character).
  • Despite its strength, Marked for Death has diminishing value when unlocked on multiple Snipers (in the same squad) since there are only so many enemies you'll need to Mark on any mission. This is without mentioning how poorly the ability combines with the Sniper's default equipment. Moving it to a single character removes the redundancy factor from Marked for Death while opening up a space for an ability that (imo) better suits the Sniper's role.
Opinions may differ about the points I've mentioned, but hopefully this at least clarifies my reasoning.

I found a bug, how do I report it?
You can leave a comment on the mod page itself or create a new discussion thread!

If you still have unanswered questions then please leave a comment on the mod's homepage; I'll respond ASAP and expand this thread as needed :steamhappy:
