Water bug. Its no longer see through
I apologize for making a forum post as I usually never makes these in the workshop, but since this is quite literally my most favorite map on garrysmod I must have to.

The water itself isnt see through anymore, its just gray and not transparent. as shown in the pic below

https://images.steamusercontent.com/ugc/16245879680194632684/3FA228294B3EDB1A2019607448879D1DC1D03F81/?imw=5000&imh=5000&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false

The water actually did used to work properly, until today it didnt and I have no idea why. I have tried figuring out the issue by disabling all my workshop addons, deleting all my workshop addons, deleting the entire garrysmod folder, reinstalling garrysmod, everything I can think of. I even tested out other maps like gm_construct and gm_abstraction_extended and the water is see through like normal, its just that for some reason, in this map, as well as gm_bora, the water is bugged. Was there a gmod update that I missed that broke the water in these maps? Am I doing something wrong? I have no idea. Please get back with me if you can cause id really like to solve this issue Im having :tropicalfish:

UPDATE: Ok so my friend tested this map out as well and the water is broken on his end too.

Having the same issue, my guess is a gmod update broke it or something

It seems like there hasn't been an update from the developers, but the map still produces jelly instead of water.
It's actually very strange, because I thought the map was jacking up the textures due to my server optimization, but that turned out not to be the case.
Plus, the author hasn't updated the texture packs, which raises even more questions about why???
By the way, gm_bora is having the same issue (jelly instead of water).
We need to ask the author.

yeah. Im not sure how to contact them, Im also not sure if they are accepting requests, and they even said it themselves in the workshop description that they have moved on from doing tropical stuff, which is a shame cause this is in my opinion the best tropical themed map in the workshop, since its so amazingly done.

heres what my ocean water looked like before it broke.

Ffox fix the water
I had the same issue with the water. I was on the Chromium branch. After reverting to the regular branch, the water was normal again.

I tried the same thing and it didn't work for me. What addons were you using?

I have tons of addons installed, but as far as I know no specfic ones that should influence the water transparancy.

What a shame. Your maps are really amazing, very detailed and well done too :steamsad:

Tho I've been having issues since before last update which put in newer source engine water into the game.

Thank you, I've updated them... Water is rendered now... At a cost unfortunately, the cost of low FPS.

yeah but Im not happy at all... I've made those custom VMT materials to get the perfect balance of visuals and a convicing cubemap reflection but now they changed it...
