YES. This map can be a bit demanding.

I REALLY SUGGEST YOU TO ENABLE MULTICORE RENDERING
Type in your console the following commands:

gmod_mcore_test 1
mat_queue_mode -1
cl_threaded_bone_setup 1

Other than that; you don't really need anything else.


Possible fix:

1) Unsub from all the five content packs.

2) In GMOD disable (NOT UNINSTALL) all your addons, this is necessary to make extra sure. There is an option for that, just click on Disable All.

3) Restart GMOD, open the console then type the following command: menu_cleanupgmas

4) Exit GMOD now, Subscribe to the 5 Content Packs again.

5) Load the map and see If everything loads correctly and you can see all of the assets/textures/models.

If so, re-enable all the remaining addons and if you see the problem returns you'll have to find the addon causing it.

-Savegames don't work - they freeze!!! I DONT KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS IF YOU HAVE AN IDEA PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!

-This map looks better if you set your in-game brightness to 2.6
-Some prop_static foliage models flicker for some unknown reason, Source magic.
-The water in the pools of the bungalows may not refract well depending on the angles, again, Source magic.
-Yep, the ocean water is downgraded and cubemap reflected.
-I really suck with displacements and this is no exception.
-I dont know how GMOD to SFM conversions are made, which is also a reason why Im providing the .vmf files.

Personal note here:

So this map.... I've been making it since past-mid 2021, more than half a year by now... This combines the best bits of my own maps and some of my favorite maps into a single island. Bungalows from gm_bora, Buffet from gm_prado & some apparment rooms and inspiration from Resortmadness all set together in a unique layout as I was putting the map together.

I dont think I will make another tropical themed map, this is most likely (it is) the last one. They take time to make, hard to optimize due Source handling PVS (not much Hint & Skip optimizations can do) and is just a huge labor to do, it became a boring and repetitive task, not to mention these maps after a while they start to look all the same.

I will be moving onto something else in the future, a new thematic.

So that said; I really hope you like the map!
