We also had an instance with a bugged system with about 1500 Xotan ships, we managed to reset the system but it happened.

This mod should help with NPC sectors being weaker to the Xsotan.
The infinite spawn thing, should hopefully have been fixed recently.
There is one mod ive not tried yet which is the invuln stations mod but id like to be able to crush a faction on my own should i decide to at some point.
Is there a way to reduce the amount of fighters and the amount of ships that spawn in these encounters? I usually get 30-40 with about 5-10 fighter spawning ships.
And is there a way in the configs for stations i can ensure they are beefed up?
Trying to target the main ships is a serious PITA due to the hundreds of fighters that are on my ass the entire time.
Have you tried running my StationChange or Original Turret Balancing Mod?
What do you mean by invasion, do you mean the actual post-WHG invasion with the prototype, 'Invasion Ship's which appear as mini-bosses or the standard Xsotan attacks?
But the real problem is the overwhelming number of ships and the stations inability to survive. This is the one where you get all of the invasion ships, cruisers, corvettes, destroyers etc. This is much more substantial than the normal 3-6 ships that you see most of the time.
WIthout fail, these guys will show up in a sector when im browsing thru the stations and just nuke everything. I am about to lower the difficulty down to see if that helps. Right now it was set to veteran.
Ive tried those mods you listed as with other station mods (not all at the same time mind you in order to avoid any conflitcs) in an attempt to give them a chance to live but no matter what, i cant kill the ships fast enough to be of any use to the faction sector i am in. Ive been trying to assemble a fleet to help ward these events off but i keep getting crushed even with 50m hp shields and 3-4m hull. I can nuke all of the ships fairly quickly except for the invasion ship types which you say are mini bosses. Usually i get around 5-7 of those and even with my ability to basically 1 salvo kill all of the other ships, these take a concentrated focus fire for a bit before they finally die. Ive even tried to focus on weakness properties but it seems like that doesnt really help at all.
Dont get me wrong... I love the mod, I love that theres tough fights, I just feel like i am a harbinger of death to any factions sector i stop and do some window shopping in :(
As for strategies, my first priority is to get rid of all the corvettes and Cruisers. Im not sure which one of those is actually deploying the fighters but they are all easy to kill so i hit them all. Im guessing its the corvettes based on my last battle i had. From there i work on the other easy stuff so i can focus on the mini bosses last.
Edit - Forgot to add, im using a sector entity viewer mod like the one you get in the strategy map. Thats been the most helpful way to target outside of the keybind for targets. Otherwise i would prolly be screwed having to keybind click thru a few dozen fighters lol
on a side thought - is there a determination on when the invasion attacks trigger based on alliances? I run all of my ships thru my alliance since i can share stuff with my friend easier that way. Just wondering if your mod fixates on alliances as a priority or not.
