This mod is not compatible with the Into the Rift dlc, and is not playable with versions 2.2 of Avorion and after.

Xsotan Civil War is a mod designed to bring more content to the table for endgame players, it should be considered a significant difficulty elevation.
It can be considered remotely similiar to the 'Increasing Threat' mod by Knifeheart, who I'd like to also thank for assistance with many parts of this mod.
It overhauls the vanilla Xsotan faction into 2 seperate factions, the aggressive Xsotan and peaceful Zyston, as well as adding additional lategame content based off existing bosses.

The mod also contains additional story/lore to fit the adjusted climate.

-Main features:
*Redone Xsotan Faction, set to war from the start and attacks all non-xsotan on site
*New Zyston Faction, an off-shoot of the Xsotan, these aliens will only attack Xsotan unless attacked, will spawn independently of Xsotan and feature their own versions of Xsotan ships. Including a mothership optional boss.
*Both above factions feature ships aggressively scaled towards larger more powerful player vessels. Summoners are more aggressive and can spawn carriers and above.
*Xsotan WHG has been redone as a much more powerful boss and WHG Fight+Swarm have been rebuilt to be more friendly for gameplay or multiplayer servers.
*3 new bosses based on Swoks, The Brotherhood and the Mobile Energy Lab. Scaled to be extremely powerful adversities with upgraded artifact rewards.

-Planned features(No set date for release):
*Storyline expansion towards end.
*New postgame content 'Zyston Swarm'
*New smuggler boss with switching tactics and powerful armament
*A boss that'll rock your world!

This mod should be mostly limited to post-barrier parts. Compatibility with anything modifying the Xsotan (SDK Overhaul etc) is strongly unlikely

I just stumbled upon this mod. Looks interesting in words. Sadly, it does not work with the present version of the game... Is the mod Vanilla scaled only or it can be used with other mods?

It was definitely interesting to poke at. Kind of made me wonder at times if it was effectively barrier Xsotan vs pre-barrier Xsotan. Separated due to events and drifted enough to become the two factions that couldn't reconcile.

The answer is you'd need more shields.
I would recommend at least 1 billion to defeat the WHG.

Really like this mod, except the one problem. The final boss. With this mod on my Gaia with over 100 million impenetrable shields cannot lost more than 10 seconds. Have to turn it off before that fight. Is there a way to fix this?

Please download the 2.0 beta to play this mod.

As the new DLC update is straight inferior in any sense, there is no current or future plans to demean this mod by trying to workaround the dev's obsession with removing moddability.

This mod sounds really cool! Found it while looking for something to slow down that swarm event. Would love to add this to my server Rogue House if it gets updated! :peace_dove:

Lets wait for the new DLC. Iff the Xsotans weak after the DLC plz update the mod. Try to balance the spawn and limit the numbers. Thx for replay and for your work. BTW its realy great Xsotans vs Xsotans.
