"Baby Captain" fail safe:
The locks will operate as normal lock & unlock doors initially. If a Captain succeeded in opening the CCL, this proves they know how it works, and the lock system is converted to the more advanced CCL mode. This simply prevents Captain's that do not know how to use the CCL from locking doors without being able to open them, and in doing so, scuff the ship.

Captain's Command Line (CCL):
You need a channel and password. Both are set at the terminals in Emergency Room. To use it: Switch to your chosen channel. Type in the precursor "r; " (which is the letter "r", followed by a comma-point, followed by a space). Then type in the password. The CCL should open for you. To input commands, type in the precursor "r; " again, followed by your command. The precursor always needs to be present for it to work.
A shortcut: when not in the textbox, press the "r" key on your keyboard, and it will automatically fill in your textbox with the precursor.

Electric Room Override:
In case of emergency where Discharge Coils need to be disabled inside rooms. The coils can only discharge about 8 times, after this, they will need to be recharged. In this period, they can be manually disabled. If this proves unsuccessful, they are connected to the engine room junction boxes (not specified for security reasons), and can be unwired to prevent the capacitors from recharging again. An alternative to this is to simply shut down the reactor untill the situation is resolved. The coils have a cooldown period between discharges. This means that one person can set it off, while another person on standby can then rush in and manually disable it. Last resort for Emergency Room: cut into the top of medbay (flooding medbay). Once in this compartment, cut to the left into Emergency Room. The capacitors should be right behind this wall (at the back of emergency room by the reactor). Disabling coils can be done by: unwiring, setting recharge rate to 0 or by breaking the capacitors.

Surge Protection:
Since the Junction boxes in engine room are a lot more sensitive, it is possible for a Captain to destroy all the junction boxes in one movement. (Going from 100 to 0 instantly causes an overvoltage that brings junction box condition down from 100 to 0 very fast). For this reason, this system was implemented. The moment an overvoltage is detected, ship fission rate is forced down low. This quickly stabilizes the overvoltage, however junction boxes still take a slight amount of damage. As a side effect (and intended balancing), when this system is online, the ship will lose power for a second whenever an overvoltage is detected. - If a system was only good, there would be no reason to not use it. But with side-effects, now you actively have to decide whether to use it or not.
Surge protection (inadvertently) also acts as a sort of reactor meltdown prevention tool simply because of how it works.
