The mod properly hooks in to the "item was researched" API.
An easy manual fix (I think) would just be to add a button to reload the list so it can grab the recently researched one. Idk how this work at all, I'm just throwing ideas.
It's because I have a mod called "Quick Research". I can press a button to research everything that is in my inventory. If I research with that, it doesn't work.
(I installed it because you can't just shift click to research something like in 1.4.4 which is omega annoying)
Not entirely sure why it's doing that though, the mod uses the proper API for registering researched items.
In any cases, I installed another mod that allow me to shift click like in 1.4.4 and this time it works well.
Btw, the extreme lag when trying to craft anything is truly annoying ahah ;-;
