⛔ (OBSOLETE) Reforged Eden 1
Bug in V1.10 (SV Drills)
Hey Reforged Eden crew.

I stumbled onto a bug that is giving me some major issues progression wise and its specifically with the SV drill miners and ground-based Mineral nodes (both regular old iron, and even things like Titanium).

Seems that the auto-eject system (im assuming its the system to prevent you from getting stuck) triggers based on 2 things, the angle of the SV Drill miner vs the 'ground', and distance 'from' a node.

If your sitting flat at 0 with the ground, you can practically land on a Resource node, you can even 'angle' down every so slightly, but the more 'downward' you angle, the further and further back from the node you have to be or the Auto-toss system kicks in and you find yourself thrown 50m backwards into the air.

ie: sitting at 0 angle, you can literally land on a resource node, but if your angled at even 30deg's you cant get closer than 20m (which makes the SV drills practically useless as they only have a 3m range)

You can dive down at a node and stop at 20m and sit there.. and be fine. But soon as you hit 19.9m, you'll instantly be punted backwards 30m.

This ONLY happens on Moons/Planets. I can bury myself inside an Asteroid and never get punted out of it, but i cant get anywhere near a ground/based node witht he SV mechanical Drills unless im sitting 100% level.

Here's a video of me demonstrating this.. its purely a 'distance' / angle thing.. has nothing to do with actually being 'stuck' as i literally dug out a hole about 6x the size of my little early-tech miner.

Dig at a shallower angle and/or clear the pivot of your blueprint and spawn a new copy of the ship from the factory.

What exactly do you mean 'clear the pivot' ?
*quick addition* Also.. Ravien.. not sure if you noticed, but nearly every time i was 'teleported' i was NOT actively trying to dig. Just the simple fact of being 'near' a Node with mining beams/drills on the vehicle, beyond x-angle will make the game throw you away, even if you have 8 miles of empty space around you.

*quick edit*
the instant the 'node' dissapears off the hud, you can spin in whatever direction you want inside the same hole and nothing happens. its 'only' when near a node that you get punted.

Re-save the blueprint with the clear pivot checkbox marked, then spawn a new copy of the ship from the blueprint.
You didn't show the underside of your ship in the video, so I don't know if this is causing it, but it could be because of retracting devices like ramps. If you have something like that that 'occupies' blocks but they don't actually collide in all of those blocks, the game can think you're partially underground and move your ship upwards.

landing gear extends and can do it too, my most successful mining SVs have a docking pad (like an HV) facing the rear so they back into a wall to dock

This actually fixed it.

And fixed a few other issues I had with another build I had made that was always spawning in off-center when spawning from a blueprint. 🥹
