🔧 Dedicated server and single player setup
Dedicated server setup:

Please read below for scenario specific instructions:
The scenario may not load properly if you skip the below steps!
These steps are used when first setting up a server OR when updating the scenario on the server.
IMPORTANT STEPS:
  1. When transferring the scenario files to your server via FTP, set the transfer mode to "binary" in your FTP client to avoid various errors with custom models and effects.

  2. The scenario files can be found under SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\383120/2550354956
    (Default location)

  3. After copying the scenario files RENAME them to be something other than the default numerical Steam ID.

  4. Never change the scenario name in an existing save game. Use the same folder name for the scenario when updating the scenario.

  5. You cannot change the scenario used for existing save games. You must start a new save game if you want to use a different scenario.

  6. The scenario does not get automatically updated on your server. You must manually copy the scenario files over again from your PC to your server if you want to update the scenario. Before reporting any issue, triple check that you followed all steps and that the scenario build listed on the loading screen matches the one in the update notes on the workshop.

The folder where Reforged Eden 1.8 is in is called 2550354956.
Clients connecting to your server do not need to be subscribed to the scenario. They will download all required files automatically.

Game settings:
It uses a similar game options file as the Default Survival game, optimized for single player or coop. If you are running this on a server it's recommended that you edit the gameoptions.yaml file as needed, or use EAH (Empyion Admin Helper) to configure your server.
I cannot offer assistance in this, as this is a file that you configure for your own needs.

Project Eden Admin Control:
Project Eden has an in-game admin control for additional scenario specific settings related to progression and missions here:

Setup assistance:
If you are using a rented server host you will need to contact their support for assistance.
Project Eden and Reforged Eden may not be compatible with all server hosts.

I cannot offer individual assistance in setting up or configuring a server beyond what I have posted in the guide linked above.

Project Eden and Reforged Eden is more demanding on servers than the default game.

Single player and coop Setup:

These instructions are for single player and coop games. For dedicated servers see the other pinned posts in the discussions.

To play using Project Eden or Reforged Eden, simply press the subscribe button on the main workshop page for the scenario, then start Empyrion. If you already had the game open, close it and reopen it. You may need to allow Steam time to download the scenario files to your PC.

Go to New Game, choose Single Player or Co-op, and then select Scenarios. Select Project Eden or Reforged Eden from the list of available scenarios. Set up your game difficulty settings and choose your starting planet and game mode (survival or creative) then press start game. You will know you're playing the scenario because it has custom loading screens and you will have a Project Eden Guide item in your inventory.

The scenario will only apply to new games specifically started using the scenario, it will not affect any of your other save games or ability to start a game using a different scenario or the default survival mode.

Internet access is required:
Internet access is required to play saves using the scenario. If you want to play without internet access, see the Project Eden Configuration Guide for instructions on installing a local copy of the scenario:

Playing Co-op:
Co-op mode allows your friends to join your game. To play Eden co-op it's best to first start your game in single player mode, then exit it and resume the save game as co-op (press the little arrow in the bottom right and select co-op when you go to resume the save game).
This is because due to the size of the scenario it might not load properly if you start a brand new save game as co-op.
If that still does not work you can then install a local copy of the scenario following the directions in the guide above and then starting a new save game.

Playing on servers:
If you are playing on a server that is running the scenario, you do not need to subscribe. All needed files will be downloaded to your PC from the server automatically the first time you connect to a server.

Requirements:
Project Eden and Reforged Eden are more demanding on your PC's hardware. At least 16gb of memory and Windows 10 is recommended, as well as a decent CPU and graphics card.

Troubleshooting:
If you have troubles with the scenario, see the other pinned posts in the discussions here.
The game developers are not responsible for custom scenarios, you need to first seek troubleshooting assistance here.

I have no idea. I've been working with one of the Empyrion devs on trying to figure out Nitrado's issues but so far we haven't had much luck.

There are a lot of subscribers currently running Nitrado. If the Dev wishes a donation toward a fix to enable me to run his content on my Nitrado server, I will gladly pay it as an acknowledgement to the dev

It's nothing wrong on our end or the dev's end. This is something with Nitrado so they have to fix it.

I can't find any information about updating RE 1.5 in a dedicated server. I am running one in G-Portal and i cannot spot the latest hotfix changes. Do i have to re-upload the scenario folder from my single player installation? Will an automatic update eventually happen? Do i have to restart the server to trigger an update? Thanks in advance!

how do i enable or select the reforged eden mod as in single player its a scenario?
any advice or help getting this running is greatly appreciated.

The first link of this discussion writes everything you need to know. Just remember to search for the folder named 2550354956 instead of the numbers written in this guide.

In short: You spot the above folder in your PC, you upload it to the server via FTP inside content/scenarios folder, you rename it to something (e.g. Reforged-Eden) and then you edit the "dedicated.yaml" file and you write the new name of the folder next to the "CustomScenario:", replacing whatever name exists there.

Is there a list of server hosts that actually work with reforged eden 1.5?
I sort of got Nitrado working, but not fully. I would like to rent some other server but would like one that for sure works with reforged eden 1.5

G-Portal works fine for me until now.
