I hear you. I only seem to get it when I'm mining Rich Asteroids. It's a shame the game doesn't have the ability to get a location for a trader selling an item or buying an item.

I think this is by design. In the developers mind it's content, not unnecessary tedium. It makes the game take longer, so it's really cool, even though it's not.

That's part of the problem - there's no up to date wiki, there no entries in the PDA, there's no hints or tool tips, or even rumors of where to find many of these items.

That is the purpose of the game, you have to come across the traders and their items. Here is a little cheat sheet for you that someone once shared with me in Discussion forum. I have saved it to my Desktop as a PDF and reference it about 1 or 2 times a month.

Thanks for the cheat sheet, I'll give it a look. FWIW, I don't think it should be so difficult to find traders to buy or sell items too. The effort should be made in getting or manufacturing the items. Just my 2 cents.

It gives you a reason to actually explore the systems and look around. Exploring can be fun too

Having just ventured into Drone lands.. the best source is salvaging the inefficient harvest drills from drone harvesters .. Asteroid belts have either no or few nullifiers....
