you need not only shield you also need suitable chargers.

If your capacitors reduce your shield charging rate down to 0 or a negative number then I don't think it will charge. As mentioned above, you'll need chargers to offset the reduction in charge speed. Having equal amounts of both chargers and capacitors will give you more shields and faster charging overall than not having them, but having more of one or the other will tip the scales in that one's favor. I personally go with one more capacitor than charger. I can still get back in the fight usually before their shields charge.

currently im using the compact shield gen with a single large capacitor, unless im mistaken my recharge should be 50

that is not enough

i usually go with 4 bank + 2 charge or 8 and 4. I use the previous tiers too all together.
