I can't see anything in the discussion threads about the ships, but I took down my first Cruiser class CV tonight, massive purple, then blue explosions as my artillery cannons ripped through it. The ship then drifted for a little bit and came to a stop. I decided to EVA over there and loot that sucker, but as I entered the ship I spotted a few little turrets inside which I can't destroy. Every time I shoot them, there is an orange splash, like the blue one you get when you're hitting a shield.

I looked for another way around, but almost all of the entrances are guarded by a turret that I cannot destroy. I did manage to get through a hole in the hull and find the core, so I slapped an explosive mine on it thinking that was what i needed to do, but it didn't even explode, just beeped its way down to zero and disappeared.

The ship is a Val'ruun Corsair which is now up against the side of an asteroid.

I looted all the smaller CV's that were with it without an issue.
