More common on Tuesdays or Wednesdays during maintinence.
DO NOT DELETE YOUR SAVE GAMES IF YOU GET THIS MESSAGE.
If the problem still persists over several days even after trying the standard troubleshooting steps please report it.
Note: you must be connected to the Steam network to play a save game that uses the scenario. If Steam is in offline mode, or does not think it has a connection to the Steam network you will be unable to play the scenario.
This can be bypassed by installing a local copy of the scenario and using a new save game that uses that local copy instead. See the other pinned posts for directions.
The AI may also be turned off at other times as well.
While the AI is turned off no AI will act: NPCs won't move, NPCs, drones, and patrol vessels won't spawn, turrets won't fire, etc.
Unsure if this also happens on multiplayer.
See bug report posted here:

Typically involves cruise missile turrets changing into hydroponics bays, but can affect other blocks as well.
There is no known cause or preventative fix at this time.
Try restarting your server and then manually fixing issues as they come up by replacing blocks or ships for players who encounter this issue.
The game developers are aware of the issue but there is no ETA for a fix.
For resource deposits:
Resource deposits never respawn, with the exception of custom ore deposits which count as a POI for regeneration.
When a resource on a planet or moon is mined out resource meteors may begin to drop to bring more of that resource as mineable meteors. Not all resources replenish by meteor.
Server admins can either manually wipe or set up scheduled deposit wipes that reset ore deposits on specific planets. Please see the in-game wipe command or the EAH documentation on how to do this.
Deposit wipes are not controlled within the scenario or game options.
For POIs and asteroids:
POI regeneration needs to be enabled in the game options for your server. You will need to speak with your server admin for this, or enable it yourself if you are the admin.
POIs and asteroids do not regenerate in single player or coop.
Not all POIs and asteroids are set to regenerate even when enabled.
By default if POI regeneration is enabled:
Asteroids and some minor POIs regenerate after 6 hours.
Standard POIs regenerate after 12 hours.
Major POIs and rich asteroids regenerate after 3 days.
Capturable ships and server-wide mission POIs (ancient warp gate for example) do not regenerate.
Completely removing all blocks of a POI will prevent it from regenerating and may be against your server's rules, with the exception of rich asteroids and custom ore deposits (tungsten, silver, magmacite, etc) which can be completely mined out and still regenerate.
Time is in real time and only passes while the server is online.
For any issues with POIs and asteroids not regenerating you need to speak with your server admin or make sure your game options are configured properly.
Update 2/6/2024:
This bug may have been fixed as of the recent Empyrion game update.
Please test and if the issue still happens on a server please report it as a game bug with reproduction steps.
There is a game bug where if you turn on any devices on your ship shortly after returning to it or logging into the game the game will calculate fuel costs as if those devices had been on the entire time.
See bug report here: https://empyriononline.com/threads/fuel-calculation-badly-bugged-00938.101602/
Update 12/14/2023 New bug report posted here: https://empyriononline.com/threads/fuel-calculation-delayed-when-structures-are-loaded.102117/
Reload the game and turn off the shield before using the di command.
Make sure effects are set at 100% volume and instead lower the master game volume and music.
The lower you have the effects slider set, the louder custom sound effects will seem in comparison.
Typically this only lasts a second or two and you can just wait for it to go away.
Will usually happen at the start of a new save game, or after a scenario update due to needing to download new copies of the files.
Additionally sometimes the download speeds for certain players can be extremely slow, taking much longer than normal to download.
These are both issues outside of the control of the server owner or the scenario and are just a result of the file sizes that need to be downloaded.
A client-side workaround exists for both issues:
- First you need to make sure the server is on the latest version of the scenario. If the server owner has not updated their scenario with the latest Reforged Eden files this will not work.
- Subscribe to Reforged Eden if you're not already and load a single player game of it to make sure your files are up to date.
- Quit the game completely and use file explorer to navigate to the Reforged Eden Workshop folder on your computer. It should usually be located here but your location may vary:
- Open that folder and copy the SharedData folder (in Win11 use shift-right click to get the copy option).
- Now navigate to your Empyrion save cache folder. You can locate this folder by right clicking Empyrion in your Steam Library > Properties > Installed Files > Browse. Open Saves > Cache and find the name of the cache folder for the server you play on. You may need to ask your server admin for the correct name if you can't recognize it.
- Paste the SharedData folder under the cache folder for the server you play on. There should already be a SharedData folder in there if you've attempted to connect to the same server/save game at least once before.
- Now start Empyrion and you should be able to skip the file download.
If these steps do not work you will need to contact your server owner as this will only work on scenario files that are the same between the server and the Reforged Eden workshop. Some servers run custom content or may be out of date in which case this will not work.SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\383120\2550354956
While using the pda readdata command is optional, not using it after a scenario update that needs an updated PDA will result in some missions or devices not being completable.
There is unfortunately no way to avoid this. You either update the PDA and risk resetting all missions and potentially breaking some, or you don't update the PDA and risk some missions not working and some newer devices not functioning.
An alternative method to update your save game's PDA is to copy the scenario's PDA files into your save game folder. This may or may not prevent all missions from being completely reset but it may still cause issues so is done at your own risk. back up your save games.
For class missions there are two possible workarounds:
You can use Naval Commendation to raise your class level via the class selection mission.
In single player console command give item Token 4013 to give yourself a Naval Commendation then activate the class selection menu and there should be a new option to increase the level of one of your classes. If playing on a server speak with your server admin.
The other option for single player is using the pda console commands to reward the class missions and then you can activate and complete them from the PDA.
pda help lists all the pda commands.
pda lschaps will give you a list of all PDA chapters along with their chapter ID (needed for other commands).
pda rwdchap x will reward chapter ID x and make it show up in the PDA so you can start it.
pda brief x will start chapter ID x.
pda msg x will show the chapter complete window for chapter ID x.
Note: these commands may not work as expected for all missions as some missions also rely on saved variables as part of their completion. For example you can still access the trader that you get from completing The Forge even if the PDA is reset. Redoing a class mission that you already completed will probably just increase your class level by 1, regardless of which level you were currently at.
If you are on a server and cannot access the PDA commands, a server admin may be able to assist you either with Naval Commendations or by editing your character's PDA chapters via EAH (not sure if possible).
If they edited the scenario files so asteroids regenerate after 12 hours instead of the default 6 hours then they may have messed something up on their file editing.
The server admin may have also messed up their game options file. Either way it's something they will have to fix on their end.
Also I'd like to know if the "chemical processing" dialog tree will do anything in the future, there seems to be no way to acquire the "toxic liquid" it asks for, and it does nothing even if you have the item for now.
It shows the internal error popup but the game is so frozen that I can't make one of the choices.
It got passed the loading planets but crashed .
It's possible this is due to steam maintenance, or an issue with the latest game update.
Try validating files in Steam and seeing if that works. If it doesn't try again tomorrow in case it's an issue with steam.
