Ships despawn with salvage cores in 1.10
Is this intended? I am not sure that's how it was in 1.9.

Now, I kill Sunat, put salvage core in it, fly my battleship to the carrier 5km away. Take my salvaging ship, fly it back and find Sunat despawned with salvaging core gone as well.

previously in 1.9, killed Zirax ships persisted for a few days, so I could warp out and then come back to salvage them completely, hull and all.

So something changed IMHO.

Nothing changed. This is how patrol vessels behave for a long time now. It's also hard coded we cannot change it.

Hmm. I guess I did not realise that Sunats and Missile destroyers etc in space were patrol vessels.

Edit: But like, good to know. I guess SV salvagers then.

sometimes they don't disappear, or don't disappear very quickly, and it can trick you into thinking it's more reliable than it is. I've seen people on my server fighting in chat about whether or not ships disappear when you kill them

Are they part of the playfield or summoned reinforcements? The latter will de-spawn after a few minutes (if that) while the former (in my experience) depends on whether it is an orbital patrol vessel or a freighter, with OPVs generally sticking around until you leave render range, and the freighters seem to be 50/50 as to which model it follows.
