Sorry to say they are probably corrupted. :(
I actually figured it out. I made a new save, and then copied each file separately from the corrupted file over to the new game. I opened the game in between each file transfer making sure the save worked still. After getting all of the files replaced, the save would run but didn't actually look right with things missing etc. so i then made another new save, then replaced all of the files at once with the previous new save files. it worked perfectly and everything was back to normal. hopefully this can help others with corrupted saves, not sure if it'll fix all corrupted files, but its worth a shot.
1: make multiple copies of the corrupted save, i numbered mine to make it easy to remember what saves iv'e manipulated.
2: start a new game in RE with a fresh start, after exiting the drop pod i backed up the save a few times also numbering them.
3: go back to the game title screen, open your save files located: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Saves\Games. should be similar to mine.
4: right click the the corrupted save file and select "open in a new window". then double click the new save game file so you can see the contents of both saves side by side.
5: select the files called: Players, Playfields and Sectors. drag them from the corrupted save to the new save. select replace files when the prompt comes up.
6: open the game and start the new save. it should load still, when i entered my game i was now floating in empty space, with all of the weapons from the corrupted save now in my tool bar. so this first file transfer will put you in the place where you last were on the corrupted save.
7: close the game, go back to those file windows, at this point try transferring one file at a time, so drag the top file from the corrupted file over to the new save file. then start the save again to make sure it still loads and works. if it does, repeat this process. close the game, transfer one file, open the save to make sure it still loads, close the game etc.
8. if you get to the point where you've transferred all of the files from the corrupted save over to the new save game, and the save still loads. then all you will need to do is this: close the game, open the file location of the new save that has all of the files replaced, then in a separate window open the file location of one of those new save back ups, select all of the files from the first one you've been modifying, drag all the files over to the new save back up all at once, open the game and then open that back up save. if it was done right, your game should now be fully fixed and everything should be back to normal.
I had you make multiple copies of the new game and the corrupted game so you could try different variation of the same steps, i tried probably 5 times with previous tries ending in the other save being corrupted. so make sure you have a bunch of back ups of the corrupted save so you don't loose your save entirely. hope this helps!
Factory content, inventory and alot of the other stuff seems fine.
Thanks Aaroww for the guide on how you did it, help alot.
