Edit: I see where the "allowed work types" can be set in the mod settings, that fixed this issue.
As soon as I made sure the prisoners were able to reach an area where they could do their assigned work type, the work priority stopped resetting. I would think this feature would be more explanatory if instead the work priority didn't reset but there was a popup saying something like "prisoners are assigned to <job type> but have no reachable work areas"
i.e. one of prisoner pawns were assigned to surgeries on capture. Now I cannot forbid him doing this work because it keeps resetting.
my entire base has held open doors but some assignments keep disappearing. So annoying
