However, remember that hydrogen runs out fast in gravity, and if you don't have the reactors you'll need to operate off the battery and solar (which will take a while to charge).
Best to take it straight up into space. I wouldn't recommend trying to operate it long distance on the surface without reactors and atmospheric thrusters.
