Keep up the great work Keks!
1st Gen Miners (Batteries and Reactors)
----S.A.M. (Small Automatic Miner) - Economical and quick to build
----A.D.A.M. - Twice the size, and twice the power of S.A.M.
Construction Cruiser
----H.C.C. Morpheus - Automatic S.A.M. assembler, docking bays, construction bay
2nd Gen Miners (Batteries Only)
----Bootstrap - Effecient and Reliable Atmospheric mining
----JackKnife - High effeciency, light weight space miner
Wow thats really impressive, i will try out these masterpieces :)
Edit:
I have tested them, really great work!
And i have 2 suggestions for the 1st gen miners.
Could you add a camera facing on the lcd ? So the setup from distance would be much easier.
And the sensor on both ships is not aligned correctly, when you load the newest PAM version it will show up an error message. In this case the up direction from the sensor must be equals to the up direction from the remote block.
But still really great and useful miners i will use them in my survival game :)

I've written another script that I think compliments yours nicely with the functionality we discussed in the comments.
I've not touched your code or anything in your script ... this is a completely separate script and can work with any other script :)

I'd love to hear your feedback. I've got around 15 years C# & .Net under my belt but this is my first SE script. Hit me up over there if you try it and have any critique.
Love your PAM script... got 4 miners running with it currently. Still getting to grips with some of it. For example, very occasionally one of the miners will get stuck on the terrain as it's entering a new hole (or new line in a hole). I suspect this is my ship design at fault though, not your script... the connector sticks out a little so it's possibly just a little too much.
Have also noticed that when this happens the ship will sit there till its battery is dead and not even attempt to return to base. Again, not sure if this is just my design or not as it may be getting stuck.
99% of the time it runs perfectly though ... very happy!
Really nice and universal usable script! This opens a lot of possibilities. I tested it and it works very well. I see you are a really professional programmer so I can learn from you (i do this only in my freetime) :P
The stucking problem is the next thing i want to improve, after that i have the capacities to give pam more remote functionalities.
In some situations when the ship is stucking a little bit more thruster force or a litte rotation of the ship can solve the problem. And this are things i can do in my code. So maybe this solves the most situations, except the ship is simply too big for the hole ;)
My Ion mining ship I built with your script in mind. Can easily be modified to be a grinding/welding ship. Originally I used 2 connectors at the bottom (to make it so the ship automatically alignes with the pad when landing) - but your script only ever deactivates one of the connectors leading to wiggly dances instead of takeoff.
