Espionage of monthly trade on the galactic market of other empires
Espionage on factions in other empires (maybe ability to influence those factions)
I think I could at least get information on factions but at its current state, factions as a mechanic is pretty bland to me. Hoping that Paradox's future goals involve fleshing out factions more though and I'm very curious about institutions and religions/cults.
IE:
The player chooses the target nation.
A timed special project is generated on a player owned system bordering the target nation.
The player researches the special project.
An event screen opens up allowing a player to choose their desired action.
This would be a lot more efficient than sending a science ship into orbit of your capital.
It would also allow for more precise targeting of the desired nation.
I have occasionally started an espionage action against my ally instead of the target nation, requiring me to return my scientist back to my capital, and back to the espionage site.
Something along the lines of "Those guys just called you a chump!"
