Post-Endor Empire question.
I completed the Endor mission as the Empire. I got Piett's SSD, I didn't bring Vader or Palpatine to the fight, and won. Afterwards I got a holo of Palpatine congratulating me and telling me to take the DS and destroy the rebellion and cut scene from Empire Strikes Back and fleet dispersing. When i come back to the game, Vader and Palpatine are gone. Is this supposed to happen? Can I earn them back since I won as the Empire at Endor?

No emperor and palps are dead post endor

they die regardless of what you do but i think you get them back / can rescue them anyway? i ended the game before i got to find out as DS battle was the last thing i had left to do anyway
