Vanilla Gravships Expanded: Chapter 1 transforms gravships from simple mobile bases into living, maintainable vessels that serve as the heart of your colony’s journey. Instead of a late-game convenience, your gravship becomes something to build, upgrade, and care for.

This chapter focuses on foundations, not flash: the essential systems that make a ship feel alive: oxygen, fuel, power, heat, and crew management. Over time, your vessel grows from a fragile atmospheric shuttle into a self-sustaining orbital gravship.

Because this is a full gravship overhaul, any mod that modifies gravships will likely be incompatible.



This mod has undergone tremendous amounts of testing, but due to the sheer size and nature of it (overhaul), it’s possible that some bugs have slipped past us. Please report those using the google form linked below. Do not post your bug reports in the comments section.

It is safe to assume this mod is incompatible with other mods that touch gravships in any way unless told otherwise, so you’re on your own if you decide to use other gravship-changing mods on top of it. If you’re a mod maker and made your mod compatible with ours, let us know!

It’s a big mod, with the longest infographics yet, but considering it’s an overhaul, it is also very complex. I recommend reading the infographics carefully to find out how the mod works now.

alright yeah I did test it
SOS2 and VGE work fine together, though I'm not sure to what extent
I was able to get them to run together properly WITHOUT my computer ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the bed and dying
so one can only assume that they work together

Amazing work and shoutout to the VE team. Only complaint is that I wish there was a gismo or mod setting to enable/disable the save map popup whenever you launch.

Actually, ignore me. For whatever reason, my anticraft caster was draining 50k constantly after a landing, but I just built one and it isn't doing it. If it happens again, I'll send a report. Thank you.

when selecting a landing spot, you can open the dev console and "Destroy" things on the map to clear a landing spot

So, I know the anticraft caster has that 50k power draw on burst, but is it meant to have a 50k draw when not in use at all? I just wanted to check if that was intended. If so, my gravhulk shall need more time to back so I can have a beefier power supply.

Intentional. We've removed the code that clears up the map, but added the crashlanding mechanic so you can still land - you just take damage. Gravhulks shouldn't be able to magically make space for themselves when landing in mountains.

You can offset the damage by obtaining a gravlift which softens up the landing greatly. Or, send shuttles to mountainous areas if your gravship is too big.

Is anyone else finding that research cost patches for Basic Gravtech, Orbital Tech, Standard Gravtech, and Advanced Gravtech aren't applying? I've been going through the XML files both manually and with Visual XML Patches but nothing else is overwriting them except this mod.
