Summoner

描述
This mods implements the Summoner class from Secrets of Magic, a charisma based martial/caster hybrid that fights using a powerful summoned eidolon.

Load Order Requirements
If you wish to grant your eidolon spells added by other mods, please be sure to set the load order of this mod to be AFTER any other mods such as 'DawniExpanded', 'RemasterSpells' or 'Spell: Acidic Burst' that add additional modded spells to the game. To do this, right click Dawnbury Days in your steam library -> properties -> Workshop -> drag this mod down beneath your spell mods.

Core Features
  • Fully customisable eidolon best friend! Pick from over two dozen portraits, and 11 natural weapons in addition to your eidolon’s alignment, to create the exact eidolon stat block you want.
  • Cast link cantrips to augment your eidolon
  • Make use of special tandem actions like Act Together and Tandem Movement to cheat the action economy.
  • Swap freely between you and your eidolon at any time during your turn, without losing unspent actions.
  • Fully shared action economy, that handles both slow and quickened conditions!
  • Fully shared lifepool, that handles temporary hit points, damage and healing! (Hypothetically, let me know if you catch any bugs with this one).

Implemented Eidolons
  • Angel: Channel the power of your divine angel best friend!
  • Anger Phantom: Seek revenge with a disgruntled spirit with unfinished business, scream out the word berserker all dramatic and angsty-like!
  • Azata*: Avoid being shackled down with a regular killjoy angel, and form a partnership with a whimsical freedom loving Azata instead!
  • Beast: Form a primal pact with a fluffy magical beast!
  • Devil*: Sign a faustian bargain to acquire a contractually obligated best friend :D
  • Devotion Phantom: Form a spooky connection with a devoted heroic phantasmal spirit!
  • Dragon: Live out your dreams of dragon ownership!
  • Elemental: Blow your enemies away with this new elemental companion.
  • Fey: Teamup with a magically inclined fairy companion!
  • Plant: Your viney plant eidolon will never be far from reach!
  • Psychopomp: Commit to an angsty emo phase by befriending a soul reaping psychopomp.
  • Undead: Fulfil your necromancer fantasies by commanding an undead servant to do your bidding.

* These eidolons are lifted with permission from the work of reddit user u/LeoRandger. You can find the origional subclasses here[docs.google.com].

Other

Known Issues
If you find a bug, ping me on the official Dawnsbury Days discord, or leave a comment on this page, and I'll try to hunt it down ^^
  • When selecting spells for your eidolon in the character builder, the description does not use their ability scores, and does not accurately heighten.

Uploading Custom Eidolon Portraits
Whilst this mod comes with a great many assets, converted from the base game's art, Wikipedia Commons or taken from free asset packs, it will obviously never be able to fully encompass the enormous diversity of creatures a summoner might be able to summon.

If you'd like to upload a custom portrait for your own personal use, go to 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\2693730\3315725529\CustomMods\SummonerAssets\EidolonPortraits' and place your custom portrait into one of the relevant category subfolders that best describe it.

If you're using the beta branch, change the directory from 'CustomMods' to 'CustomModsV3'. These folders not not share an asset folder, and must be updated separately.

You can use the template.pdn file to attach the green ally border to your image, and ensure it's of the correct dimensions, using Paint.Net. Just paste your image into the second layer (the one with the deer) and save it as a PNG.

Ah, neat! Thank you for the quick response and thank you again for this wonderful mod!

Ok, so it looks like the first bug was caused by Tendril strike technically being a ranged strike. This was pretty easy to replicate thanks to all the details you gave!

I'll have to keep an eye out for the bracer one though. The eidolon doesn't seem to have the item qEffect, but there might be some oddly specific circumstance where it somehow gets transferred?

Huh, I've never seen anyone report any of those before :o

Thanks for the report, I'll look into it and hopefully have a fix out soon!

I absolutely love this mod!

It does have a few weird interactions trying to fit into the base game code, though:

-I used act together on my summoner, casting a manipulate spell (electric arc), and then having my summon make a Tendril Strike (Trip) action. The summon's action triggered an Attack of Opportunity from an enemy adjacent to it. I guess the manipulate trait from the summoner (not in range) somehow was carried over to the summon (in range)?

-Also, I have had an attack targeted at the summon bring up the reaction text box from the summoner's Bracers of Missile Deflection, but choosing to use the reaction has no effect as the attack is targeting the summons AC, not the summoner.

@OneShot

Sadly due to licencing issues and my personal proximity to the base game, I can't create mods based on ORC content :C

I might be able to get someone else in the community to make a separate mod that uses mine as a dependency to add it though?

Also, thanks for pointing out that a new Swarm Eidolon just dropped :o I was wondering if they were gonna add one, but nobody with a pre-release copy of the book seemed to have mentioned it :o

Do you think you'll add the new swarm eidolon at some point in the future?

@ Synder
That mod is unfortunately mostly for testing purposes, so that modders can get their classes and ancestries ready for new expansions before the official level cap is raised for a major update.

It'd be a lot of work to add feats and subclass features for levels 10-20 when there's no level 8+ content currently available to use it in.

Most of the class does however function for level 20 in terms of proficiency scaling - and I could possibly look into implementing some of the higher level ASIs and weapon specialisation increases for the eidolon just to future proof things.
Synder 7 月 16 日 下午 4:06
Could we see an expansion to level 20 support with the Level 20 unlock mod now available?

@Pixie1001 You may want to wait with the implementation. We may need a "remove from play" functionality in the base game for effects like engulf or banishment, and if we have that, then perhaps Meld into Eidolon could make use of that effectively.

@Fosuke
There hasn't been a ton of interest for it, but I'll add it to my list ^^

I initially skipped it because despawning a PC without causing a game over or overriding their stats and then resetting them back to non-eidolon mode to do a kinda battleform type thing would be a very fiddly process.

But I could play around with it to see if I can find a work around or adjust the feat somehow to create something that's in the spirit of the original feat.
