Expanded Biotech Style Genes(EBSG) is the step beyond More Biotech Style Genes. Where that series sought to expand ranges that already exist, this series seeks to add ranges that should exist. You get gene ranges that alter sleep fall rate, but why not a range for changing the rate it recovers? If you can have fire resistance genes, why not have genes to resist other types of damage like frostbite and acid?

Well now both those questions will be solved, and more. This mod adds over 500 genes that allow you to influence various stats your pawns have, from hemogen gain to acid immunity and beyond. Having any of the individual mods with this installed may cause issues, but you should be able to safely replace all the individual ones with this.

Some of the genes in this mod require the EBSG Framework. If you choose to not install the framework, then those genes will just not be enabled. None of the other genes will be affected by this decision.

You can also find a semi-official lite version[github.com] here. The lite version does not contain any of the genes from Environmental Preference, Dependency, Resistance, or Passion mods, so those will need to be downloaded separately. The lite version is unlikely to ever pop up on the workshop as most who want to trim down the gene count will just use individual mods and/or cherry picker.

This does NOT contain any genes from More Biotech Style Genes. I did this to prevent some weird things from happening when I work on this stuff.

This, along with many of the mods tied to it, adds certain genes to Expanded Archite Genes.

Switching from individual packs to the all in one shouldn't have any issues mid-save, but switching from the all in one to individual packs may require a new save.

This should be safe to add mid-save, but the genes will be difficult to get mid-save due to how many there are. Removing it mid-save is a lot more dangerous, and in the best case scenario it will throw one-time errors on load.

Between this and the other "log" you shared, I'm getting the feeling you threw some stuff at AI and are just regurgitating what it plopped out. There has never been an EBSG_Ageless gene. At least you ended up in the right mod series this time

XML Verse.GeneDef defines the same field twice: displayOrderInCategory
… <displayOrderInCategory>0</displayOrderInCategory><displayOrderInCategory>0</displayOrderInCategory>
EBSG_Ageless from Extended Biotech Style Genes defines the same tag twice.
Modern RimWorld is strict: the second tag crashes the def parser for that one gene and everything that references it later.

Fix

Update EBSG to the 1.5 “hot‑fix” build (the authors removed the duplicate field on 2025‑04‑09).

If you must keep this exact build, edit Defs/Genes/Gene_Ageless.xml and delete the second line.

That's the point, and if you read the description you'll find the link to the lite version that has much fewer, along with the statement that "most who want to trim down the gene count will just use individual mods and/or cherry picker".

A lot of these things work better as traits and just bloat the whole gene pool. I disabled most of your genes with cherrypicker

That's an issue with the vanilla code. The carrying capacity genes do alter the carrying capacity (and the caravan carry capacity when VEF is enabled), but unless you have other mods that check the stat, hauling is usually the only thing that checks the capacity.
