Expanded Biotech Style Genes(EBSG) is the step beyond More Biotech Style Genes. Where that series sought to expand ranges that already exist, this series seeks to add ranges that should exist. You get gene ranges that alter sleep fall rate, but why not a range for changing the rate it recovers? If you can have fire resistance genes, why not have genes to resist other types of damage like frostbite and acid?

This mod adds a new category of aptitude genes called passion genes. These 39 genes increase various skill passions the pawn has. I name good.

These genes take effect after the normal passion genes, meaning you can make pawns with terrible shooting but a major passion for it, or pawns with amazing building but no passion for it. Also, they won't activate until a couple seconds after spawning to allow any other on-spawn effects to finish their course, like gene randomizers.

I don't know how this interacts with Vanilla Skills Expanded, so please exercise caution if you use that mod. Depending on how that mod adds new passions, this could automatically include those in the +1/+2 list, be completely ignored, or explode.

None of my mods do anything that would alter gene extracting. My best guess is that you are extremely unlucky in this case.

am i doing something wrong? out of all the gene extracting i have done i only got 2 passion genes and filled up 3 full gene registry's (a modded gene bank that holds 80 each)

Yes, the framework is just in the middle of the update process. In theory, those who use the github version of the framework will be able to use this mod, but I have not had a chance to test it yet.

would be amazing if the gene applied something like a +1 instead of overwriting the passion. This way base pawns can have their standard generated passion set without their metabolism being destroyed, but still be boosted further if you come across a pawn with a boosted gene.

I'm not planning on adding VSE passions to this mod because that mod's passions behave notably differently from vanilla passions, meaning even if I could find a way to link their passions to a gene, the chance of things not interacting properly is too high.

I had to make an update to the passion genes which will cause them to wait until a few seconds after spawn to actually adjust the passions. I got some reports that there were some pawn creation things that did not appreciate what I was doing.

Does the random passion gene also apply with newborns?
