This patch doesn't work with the Mechineki, it's only for the Neki ships.

hey this may seem like a dumb question but does this also work with the mechineki?

I'm so sorry for the super delayed response, somehow I missed this message T_T
There are mods that add T9-T10 ships to multiple races, such as Tier Nine Ships , and some races already include them, as you know.
T11 is something I came up with because I needed a tier above to realize my pseudo-BYOS idea for the ship; as far as I can tell there's no limit to how many ship levels you can add to the game - as long s you define it and create all the assets, it will work ^-^

the only modded tier 9-10 ships that I know of is the Avali, Smol Avali, Novali (plus there alt ship), Felin with the Soma exploration ship, Protectorate ship, and the Saturnian

I didn't even know there was Tier 11 Ships or that the Neki even supported tier 9-10 ships!
where can I get them? ^^;;

It works either way, just make sure no crew are following you when you recruit more because Starbound is... Starbound.

Hmm, does this only work with a Neki made after installing it, or does it work with one made before? Because I have it installed with one I made prior to it, and I seem to be at the vanilla cap.

I have Frackin Universe but am using the "Vanilla" ship
